The far left must be real proud. Flags burned at graves

This is the kind of crap that makes the Lefties happy.
These sc#mbags need to be beaten.
WTF is this world coming to??

azasadny 05-29-2007 09:39 AM

That is a crime, without any justification or possible defense.

Christien 05-29-2007 09:49 AM

I fail to see why it's a left vs right issue. This would make any patriot angry.

lendaddy 05-29-2007 09:51 AM

Odd that we catch hell for abortion clinic bombers and the Michigan Militia but you guys hold no ownership over your wackos.

We all have our crazy uncles and these are yours.

azasadny 05-29-2007 09:54 AM

IMO, the "far left" and "far right" are equally wacko. Stupidity knows no political party or idealogy, it's "equal opportunity"... anyone who would burn a veteran's memorial flag is sick and cannot be defended...

You honestly believe that "Lefties" are happy because of this? WTF?

VINMAN 05-29-2007 10:08 AM

Antics of this type do tend to evolve from the Leftists of this world.

Christien 05-29-2007 10:13 AM

Care to provide some facts to back that up?

Antics like this tend to evolve from stupid drunk tenagers with no politcal affiliation.

jkarolyi 05-29-2007 10:20 AM

Note that Vinny said the "far left" in his post title. And flag burnings are nothing new in far leftie world...do you need "facts" when I say the sun is hot too?

Christien 05-29-2007 10:22 AM

I guess it just frustrates me that, at least from a media standpoint, everyone seems to spend more time bickering between left and right than actually getting anything done. (And I'm not by any means exempting my own country from this) Politics has become a game of 'let's keep our jobs by trashing the other side' rather than actually a means to make the country work.

Imagine what could be accomplished if everyone who currently expends effort on polarizing the nation instead put that effort towards making the nation better.

The point of democracy is to allow opposing viewpoints to come together to find the best solution for everyone. Polarization and the paralysis brought on by it is the utter failure of this process.

Yes. My apologies to the "not so far left". The "far" left are the ones that tend to have the "peaceful" protests that usually end up in violence and destruction. With numerous arrests for assault and creating a public disturbance.
They are the ones that advocate flag burning and the like. (Such as the Boxster driving nutjobs from a previous thread.) If you want examples, it will take up a whole lot of Waynes bandwith just to list even a fraction of examples.
When do you ever hear of folks from the "Right" having a disruptive or violent protest or demonstration? I cant remember the last time.

Chris, I agree fully that polarization is not helping. But as long as you have whacko extremists (on both sides), the rift will only continue to grow.

HardDrive 05-29-2007 10:48 AM

God this country is f*cked up.

Right or left does not necessarily have to constitute political affliation. It has alot to do with social and moral values. Not that I am in anyway trying to preach morality

I would amend this to say as long as people pay attention the the extremists the rift will grow. As someone pointed out in another thread, Cindy Sheehan is taking her ball and going home because people stopped paying attention to her. The sooner we get rid of people like Ann Coulter (or whomever her left counterpart may be, she was just the first name that came to mind) who do nothing to contribute to public debate and only slam their opponents, the better we'll be.

just last month,

http://migramatters.blogspot.com/2007/05/when-evil-words-turn-to-evil-deeds.html

Eric rudolph, Timothy Mcveigh, I'll stop at three examples for now, but there are many, many more. Just like one of the other posters stated, you have this on both sides.

Superman 05-29-2007 11:25 AM

I'm not even going to read the comments. This happened just north of here. The guard at the guard shack told me the story. He, like you guys, think this is typical behavior of liberals. Just like I'm not going to honor your hasty generalizations with a comment, I didn't say anything to him. This is hate speech. It is a disgusting act. I respect our troops, then and now. Iraq or Iwo Jima. But if you guys think this is a typical example of liberal actions, then I guess it helps your conscience while you enjoy hating half of America.

Whatever.......

So you are saying that there are politcal hard core righties whose social/moral values are left wing and vice versa?

Shaun @ Tru6 05-29-2007 11:53 AM

the burned flags were replaced with Nazi swastika's.

that's the venue of the Right.

Eat your own.

VINMAN 05-29-2007 04:28 PM

It's about the flag burning Shaun, not the nazi crap , the flag burning. You know , the kind of thing the FAR LEFT approves of.

I will eat nothing!

Stomachmonkey, once again social and moral values and politics can be seperate issues. but the Far Left seems to have the market on the more deviant side.

Again I stress "FAR LEFT"
