CNN = amateur hour

Not a political rant here, a technical one.

Watching the Dems debate tonight.

-Microphone failure
-Mic hum
-Mismatched sound levels, echo-y sound
-Crowd noise and static
-Cameramen walking around behind candidates
-Horrible, distracting pixelated backdrops
-Cameras zooming around finding shots when they were live
-Handheld (?) shaky camera work

Jeez, what a bunch of amateurs. It's like they scooped up my local public-access TV staff and said to them, "hey, wanna do our debate?"

Say what you want about Fox and MSNBC, but at least they get the technical stuff and production values right - just about every time.

Okay, two more:

-Blitzer's leg blocking the guy answering the question. Nice suit, Wolf!

-Buch of cables dangling down in the top of the screen, I guess from a boom mic.

It's fascinating to see the candidates trip over themselves to want to be the first one to quit Iraq and hand the country, unimpeded, to Sadrists, Baathists, Iran, and/or jihadists.

I just don't get it. What is the appeal of wanting to be the first one to lose the war and subject innocent Iraqis to the inevitable slaughter that would follow?

Because they can blame it on Bush.

Yep, then it will "prove" they were right.

Can someone explain to me why we are having "candidate" debates more than 18 months before the election?

None of them could be the first, second, or last one... You can only lose a war once imo, and Bush already has that honor

Right, its always Pres Bush's fault. Hell, the Loch Ness monster is Bush's fault for that matter!

You are one of those who would have declared defeat in 1862 or 1942. Read history, my friend.

What part of leadership don't you boys get?

When things go wrong, you take responsibility and yeah, you get blamed.

When things go great, your team gets the credit. That's leadership.

But that aside, hard facts are difficult to avoid.

Afghanistan: We booted the Taliban and AQ just enough to allow a continuous, simmering, resurgent insurgency. Since we took over, opium production is up 70% with 90% of it coming to the US. War on drugs? we pay Musharef $1B of your hard-earned tax dollars every year to help catch OBL. that's $6B of your money down the drain. So stop your whining about entitlement programs until I hear you b!tch about failed policy and wasted $ in A and lining Musharef's pockets.

Iraq: they need a bloody revolution, no ifs ands or buts. And yeah, Bush is losing Iraq because he won't do what needs to be done: either leave and let the Iraqi's fight it out, or more than double troop strength to 300,000 to seal the borders, etc. unless of course you enjoy hearing Condi whine to the Iranians about their sending trained terrorists/insurgents with new IEDs into Iraq to kill our Soldiers. When you seal the borders and turn the country upside down, the electrical grid goes up and stays up...cause no one's left to blow it up. Want to win hearts and minds. more than 3 hours of light per day might be a good start.

So yeah, avoid responsibility with your smirking bumper sticker Blame Bush rhetoric. I'm sure the next U.S. soldier killed by an Iranian IED will appreciate your support for failed policy and Condi subjugating the US to the Iranians.

having more than one option is good strategy.

let the Iraqi's have their civil war. We had ours and it made us a stronger nation. no Soldiers need to die because the Iraqi's can't get their act together. that's 1 option.

Another option, one I favor, is to clean the country up once and for all with a righteous force that will get the job done. If your roof has leaks here and there, you fix those few, and new ones continue to develop, do you fix those too or put on a whole new roof? Which is more cost effective? Which will last longer? Which is stronger?

CNN is very competent. At promoting their agenda. Just like Fox News is very competent at promoting theirs.
