They just don't/won't stop for the police. What are they going to do, shoot them for riding a dirt bike?

FWIW, my Husaberg 450 is a street legal MX bike. I have it legally registered and plated. It is in Supermoto trim (17" wheels and street tires), and it is an absolute ball to ride on roads.

Old east coast blue collar cities are becomming homes of lawlessness. A quick check of the # of murders so far this year in Philadelphia will shock you. We've had more murders than larger cities such as New York, Las Angeles, Chicago, etc. Cops in these areas do nothing, and because of lack of tax dollars most of the police forces are shrinking and not growing.

As a kid I saw a cop car chase a dirt bike in our neighborhood. The kid, who was 12, exited the street onto a bike path and the cop followed. The kid wiped out at the bottom of a hill and was arrested. There was speculation that the cop actually bumped the kid with his car.

That whole scene in Baltimore is nuts. Cops need to dedicate a day or two to "clean up" the streets using cars, motorcycles, and helos. All off-road/unlicenced vehicles will be permanently confiscated by State. Riders given community service.

we occassionally watch Philly news and i am amazed at the amount of violence in that city. just incredible. for some reason i don't recall Balmur being quite so bad. not to say it isn't a bad place to be after dark in many places...

When I was a kid, we rode dirt bikes down the main street of our small town and the local sheriff would wave as we motored past, but we were respectful of other motorists and would move to the berm and slow down when encountering cars. These bozo's are obviously trying to create mayem as opposed to avoiding it. I agree.... a well placed pipe in the spokes seems quite appropriate. Seems odd that that many kids can afford $6000 motocross bikes..... they must all have really good summer jobs
