ASA Group LTD - Internation Ebay Purchase. Help Please...
Anyone familiar with ASA Group LTD ?
Someone from Germany purchased by early 911T on ebay and made a wire transfer into my account. He tells me the transfer was money coming from his company ASA Group LTD, which is based out of Hong Kong. What are the appropriate questions I should ask? Thanks for your help. ASA Group LTD has a website and they are based out of Hong Kong. I would contact them directly via phone to confim that what is going on is legit.

Check with your bank as well - wire transfers are pretty much "not undoable" -

Yes, I contacted them and spoke with the managing director at their company. There was no wire transfer made from their bank account, even though the transfer record indicated their name as the "Remitter's Name"
The manager also told me it is highly unlikely that 2 companies named ASA Group LTD are registered with the Hong Kong SEC. Last edited by on-ramp; 06-15-2007 at 03:42 PM.. |

Personally, I would make it clear in my eBay auction that I WILL NOT accept any international bids, especially those from Nigeria, etc... or accept any kind of payment arrangements that involve money orders written for more than the toal amount with request to forward cash, etc...
It's too late for your auction, but i would be especially wary of any international auction, especially considering the $ involved and that it's a car, not usually shipped long distances sight unseen...
