I don't know all the details, but it's probably worth attempting to contact PCNA to see if there's a program for replacement.

Everyone with 9" Fuchs should inspect for horizontal cracks across the middle of the spoke.

I tried that when I first had one that was cracked, the local dealer tried, but PCNA wouldn't budge.:(

Is it just me, or does it seem like the internet is full of fraud?

I sincerely hope that what happened to me doesn't happen to anyone else. I also know whom to deal with in the future.

Jason, I am going to call you first if I ever need anything special, no more Pelican classifieds for me.

Drew001 07-18-2007 07:33 PM

They look fantastic, Chris. I'm so close to calling Jason myself.
As soon as I off my old daily driver...

kg911 07-18-2007 07:37 PM

Chris,

Those wheels look great. Congrats.

I don't think the POs knew about the cracks, some people just don't look that close and all were stock, not chromed.

PatrickB 07-18-2007 08:12 PM

Wheels look great!
Now it's time to drop her down a couple inches! :D :D

Well, I don't think he knew either but a gesture of good faith would have been expected as I have said before but he never even attempted to contact me other than an email saying no warranty and a post on this thread saying he would try to make good.

I reiterate that buyer said these wheels were perfect. If they were perfect, this thread would have never have been started and I would have still been enjoying my first set of wheels. I pay the price in this case both monetary and timewise just trying to get what I set out for originally.

So needless to say, I am not pleased with him as a person or as a Pelican.

84porsche 07-18-2007 09:19 PM

By the way, thank you to everyone for the compliments and the assistance. I never heard back from PCNA so I assume its not something they deem an issue. But life goes on.

450knotOffice 07-19-2007 02:36 PM

Well, I'm glad you're happy Chris! Those look sooooo good on your car. :D

As an aside, you're a forgiving guy. You got a bum deal and lost a lot of money. If I'd been the seller, I would've been so embarrassed over the bad wheel that I would have taken that one back. Integrity is what I call it.

But that's just me.

FenderGuy 07-19-2007 02:45 PM

I think this thread shows where the classified section is heading towards. While most of the members of the BBS are outstanding, there’s a new wave of members who post in the classified section who have no integrity and would rather see the $$$.

This also applies to those who PM on done deals and EBay auction type tactics in the classified section, no integrity and hide behind PM’s.

Whoa! What's the underlying story with that (other than the obvious)?

Byron decided to take those tires on the street and apparently the rear came out while taking a corner with the utmost of safety in mind and the rim gently kissed the curb.

Larry,

I still have the other good wheel, I am going to pick it up this morning from Al Reed's place along with the bad 16 x9 and my 15s.

However, not an SC, no SCWDP for me. She is an 84, one of the last ones made for that year. Those are now 16 x9s and 16 x7s up front and the tire sizes are 245 45 R16s in back and 205 50 R16s up front. She came with 15 x 7s and 8s which I believe were special requested by the original purchaser of the car. Nearly all the options available. Car had been lowered and adjusted for the look of my old wheels with were much taller.

Nicely put, Dave. But OUCH, that looks like it had to painful. After this ordeal, I don't want to touch the wheels again except for cleaning or tires.
