And he actually bought them about six months ago. :)

Wow, where did the anger come from 450? I was just curious. When I went to the actual website he had the link to at Euromotors, it said $1,600 was the price and I didn't see where it said a pair. Good to hear that he had a good transaction because I may want to do the same thing.

No anger. Not at all. If my words seemed to convey anger, well then I guess I just chose a poor set of words.

Just pointing out that Patrick never said that the wheels were $800 per pair.

Really, no anger at all...just more like one friend poking the other in the shoulder and saying "look again buddy". :)

1600$ for the pair... Brand spanking new out of the Porsche Factory Box. That's not anger, just always surpised to see 20 year old USED 16x9 wheels going for almost the same...

p.s. 3.2's rule the world! Why else would you SC guys be upgrading to our style tensioner??

These wheels were on my car I drove my kids around in, I don't feel like I should have to defend myself here. I purchased the wheels from a upstanding member of the SD PCA and payed top $$. I am not going to chase him down cause I believe he didn't know as well as I didn't know anything was wrong with the wheels (I am not a metallurgist). Al refinished the wheels and I was not told of any failures, I agree with the windshield theory but will try to make good with Chris as soon as possible.

Good to see you up and about Patrick! Here is a question, why would Porsche call one car "Super" and the other not? You know why.....:D

Maybe we can just ask Wayne to change your user name to... "Super Dave"

 :D :D

You doing the BB Run?

randywebb 06-19-2007 05:01 PM

That's "Stupor" not "Super."

Well, I just wanted to give you guys an update. I should have another set of 7s and 9s this upcoming week if all goes well. Jason Cullen has been helping me get this situation figured out so I would like to say thank you to him. He is a true example of a Pelican looking out for another.

I will obviously be taking the 15s off when this is all done and would like to recoup a little money that I have lost. If anybody is interested in my 15s (7s & 8s), let me know.

These came with the car, I do not know the history of them prior ro my ownership but I have been to the track once with these wheels and the wheels have been with me for 4+ years and still strong as ever but not perfect.

450knotOffice 07-08-2007 03:43 PM

Post pics when you get the wheels on, Chris!

450knotOffice 07-17-2007 03:50 PM

OK...it's over a week later.

What's up with your new wheels, Chris? Did you get them on yet?

Tomorrow or Thursday morning officially. I went to Al's this morning and dropped off the old/new 16s to get the tires off. Al is mounting the tires on the new wheels today and should have them ready to go first thing in the morning. I will then have to go back for the bad wheel, the good wheel and my 15s.

My hat goes off to Al Reed and Jason Cullen for making this happen. I got burned on the initial deal and both of them went out of their way to get me back on the road. I miss driving my P-car. I will try to get pictures up tomorrow night if everything goes perfect.

Excellent!!!!

Thank you for the opportunity to assist!

Not as rare as one would think, I have seen at least 3 just like that, and all were 9s:(
