you want great pants?

here it is. a pant recommendation.

Eddie Bauer Guide pants. you can get them on crazy-sale for $40, but finding them for regular sale price at $60 is more common.

i wear them all the time. i own 3 pairs. my jeans are forgotten. i kid you not, i only wear these. i originally bought these for travel pants. they are a synthetic material. everyone knows the material for jackets. some sorta nylon. we dropped into Japan on a whim and i just wore these pants and thru a tiny backpack over my shoulder. i wore them for a long time straight with one bathroom sink wash. they never wrinkle, never stunk, never tore. i backpacked with them. i wore them hunting. throw on a button up shirt and pushed the envelope in some restaurants. rained on? dont worry, they dry fast. stain them..wipe it off. i got bike chain grease on mine and wiped it off. interior house paint. whoa!! wet paper towel and got on it fast and it came off.

lots of nylon pants out there. it is a great material. bombproof. i got my wife hooked with a REI version. she bought two pairs and suggest them to all of her nurse co-workers for their home visits. dog hair does not stick.

the black ones are my favorite.

For jean wearers, check out the American Eagle active flex denim. They were just on sale for $20/pair. Super soft, flexible denim. Feels like yoga pants!

Based on our previous talks I got a pair, I do like them.

Still, with the exception of the back pocket being on the wrong side, my Sitka ones are the bomb. Yes they cost more, but dang, they do everything right....

Should we start a boot thread, because I upgraded to some sweet high Lowa's recently, and they rock.

Hey man, with all that riding to and from work with big smiles, those pants must be falling off your ass. I don't know what pants feel like. I am in shorts 24/7.

I have a few pair of pants like that, I think Eddie Bauer, the one thing I wish they could figure out is how to tighten the leg pocket(s), if you put something like a phone in they, they flap all over as you walk. Some smart person needs to figure out how to make these pockets hold things securely in them

I agree Eddie Bauer has great pants. I like Costco cargo pants as well. Summer ones have detachable legs and the winter ones are lined.

As regards cell phone pocket I agree Bob J that the cell phone flops around but cell phones come in different sizes and if the pocket is too small it is hard to get the cell phone out.

I actually gave them to my FIL and bought three more smaller ones. Lost a waist size.

Chain grease from my ride in. No worries.

You own the best pant. Sitka!! My jacket is damn near indestructible and I've tried. Can't afford matching pants.

I have Kuiu, the competition. I do have first lite coming in the mail. Used. Hopefully.

Lately I like the Propper brand tactical pants. Light, comfy, quick to dry.

I just got a few pairs of these:

The Protégé - Wren | AG Jeans Official Store

AG "The Protégé" pants. Business casual to casual. Not cheap but the most comfortable pants I have ever owned. I had them hemmed to be a bit more business.

Those EB pants look pretty nice, but I associate the brand with 50+ crowd.

I purchased forest BDUs and ACUs from them over ten years ago. I do work around the house and farm in those pants, and they are tough as nails. My wife always jokes when I put them on "I can't see your legs!" I always smile.
