Like so many W supporters, you show a total lack of understanding of what the man believes.

There has been no change, whatsoever in W's stand on immigration from before he was elected. Desperate attempts to attribute this to the Svengali-like control of W by Dems are just silly. They only work with people who haven't been paying any attention -- probably the same 41% who think Saddam was behind 9/11.

dubya learned his immigration lessons in Texas. Admittedly he has been weak on this issue all along. But when the whole immigration thing hits the front burner he follows the lead of the media (read Time lately?) and the most liberal of the dems. We elected him to oppose these people - not jump in bed with them. At least now the issue is out in the open and hopefully will be a deciding factor in the next elections.

He has always been in bed with 'these people.' Many corporations are very dependent on 'illegal' labor. These are the same corporations that owned Reagan and supported his amnesty program. There's some kind of 'special relationship' W has with Mexico, which you could see early on in his relationship with Fox.

If you elected W to oppose illegal immigration, you made a mistake.
