Don't they all (politicians) set a fine example? I always sort of feel sorry for the old wife who has stuck with the politician all those years through thick & thin and gets dumped in the end. Power corrupts.

He's a douche, but he got himself a hot new biznatch.
Did you know that he created his name by combining his last name w/ his wife's? "Tony Villa" became Antonio Villaragosa with his wife's name which is Ragosa. I guess now he'll have to add on the new chick's name.

That Telemundo skank has been around the City Hall block a few times. She's messed with at least one other Latino politico - Assembly Speaker Fabian Nuńez, but Nuńez's wife pulled a "not my man," and reconciled. If at all, Salinas should be fired for her (lack) of ethics by ****ing the person from whom she gets her news sources. Plus, she's supposedly pregnant with Antonio's child.
Tony (hide the baloney) has a different and more longstanding problem. He's a twice-proven loser in the marriage dept., having had two illegitimate children with another woman in '94. Something else that's been bouncing around the city blogs is the RNC was set to "out" Antonio and his hot tamale affairs to get at Hillary, since Antonio is co-chair of Hillary's presidential campaign. But hey, an RNC mission to melt the mayor led him to walk his own gang plank - taking it like a true man. Whatever the case, he's a sleazy disingenuous bastard who doesn't give a rat's ass about L.A. (unlike a Bloomberg or Giuliani and N.Y.). Antonio's only aspiration is to succeed Schwarzenegger by becoming California's first Latino Governor, then after that, the first Latino President. Meanwhile, the roads suck here in L.A., the public school system needs a deep overhaul, and the general city infrastructure is pure blight. In short, I miss Dick Riordan...

I actually voted for this stud because the prior idiot had me living by candle light with those rolling black outs a few years back. I really hope that the latin american community will close the door on him.

Gray Davis was governor, not mayor. Most of the "rolling blackouts" crap came from poor STATE management decisions, not local.
That said, there were lots of bad decisions made under the last mayoral administration too. I'm SO happy Long Beach is not part of L.A. I'll never move back to that city or any of its constituent neighborhoods. Ever.

Long before this guy got elected I was posting warnings about him.
He is a snake, the kind of guy that makes Bill Clinton look like an honest respectable up front guy. I've watched him create photo ops out of nothing. I've watched him create media opportunuties on the back of honest businesses. He will do and say absolutely anything to see his name and picture on the front page. He scares me. Almost as much as hitlerry clinton. |

I was cracking up this morning watching the news. He ALWAYS conducts ALL press interviews and camera bites in both languages.
Until this morning. He actually looked repugnant when he was asked if the newer model was pregnant. |

Villarogoso is an interesting case study. I've met him briefly when he was speaking at a fundraiser my ex organized. He is quite personable, bright, and slick. Two of those are *required* for any politician these days...unfortunately the bright part is often optional.
As stated above his real goal is to be the first Latino gov of California. He is power hungry and is willing to do what it takes to get it (sound familiiar?). He also makes some bad personal choices (sound familiar?). His power play with LAUSD was all political and had nothing to do with quality of education. My son attends an LAUSD school right now (public charter), but will likely switch to Santa Monica for middle and maybe high school. Villarogosa is pretty reprehensible, but I don't see many politicians these days that aren't. Riordan actually was a pretty decent guy, but he wasn't slick enough to make the deals to really get things done. That is part of the problem...the system rewards the slippery ones with silver tongues and backroom deals, and *****s on smart problem solvers that give a crap. |

I would never live in LA County again, let alone the City of LA. I really doubt I would want to live anywhere in SO CA again. It not that LV is so great, because once a Politican leaves office here his next residence is prison. It more that SO CA just has soooo many people and is so fked up.
We got a Govenor of the State of NV that is under investigation by the FBI for giving Federal No Bid Contracts to a buddy in return for campaign contributions and a PR Job for a no experience wife while he was a Congressman. We got...ahhh YOU ALL GOT Harry Reid as Senate Majority Leader...better known as "Land Deal Harry" whose kids alre either Attorneys or Elected Officials in Clark County hehehe...and Metro Police sweeps under the rug that Harrys Daughter has major drug problems and it seems that Harry likes to smack his wife around on occasion. But he is a GOOD Mormon.
