Most Expensive Automobile?

Looks like something out of a Batman movie...

Maybach Excelero pics here.

This is a concept so who cares how much it costs. You couldn't buy one if you had 100 million. It cost 8 million to develop. How much did the Honda Civic cost to develop?

Yeah, gotta agree, that's pretty ugly. I guess it's cool because it's so different, but it just doesn't catch my eye. And WTF? 0-60 in 4.4 seconds? For 8 mil I'd expect a lot better. A 997 will clobber that, even NA for a 20th the price.

Is that a Ford Thunderbird?

8 million to develop, not buy. Sketchers is just pointing out the fax.

The whole car is totally out of proportion!

Quote from the video;

"..the whole car was actually designed by students..."

Ahh, that explains it.

I heard "Neoprene" but can't recall if that was for the waders in back, or the seats up front. It might be a good fishing/hunting rig.

Actually, I had Coco Puffs this morning.

Didn't mean to piss anyone off, but clearly the presenter doesn't know shoot about cars. How many times does she mention that it is "worth 8 million"? Designed for the track???????????///forwardslash I would pay 8 million to see that!

Are we sure that B D didn't post the Fiero version? That interior's pug fuglyness is only moderated by the exterior. I truly must be behind the times.

Comes from Wikipedia, but is accurate.

Quote:
The Maybach Exelero is a high-performance super car designed and built by luxury car manufacturer Maybach, and presented in May 2005. The 700 hp (SAE) (514 kW) two-seater with a bi-turbo V12 engine is a one-off design commissioned by Fulda Tyres. Fulda is using this car as a reference vehicle to test a new generation of wide tires. The German luxury car manufacturer created the one-off model as a modern interpretation of its legendary streamlined car of the 1930s. There are various allusions to the historical predecessor, which was likewise based on a powerful Maybach automobile, in this case the Maybach SW 38, and was also used by Fulda for tire testing.

I'll take a Caparo T1 instead. Should cost less than $400K.
