Horrific Motorcycle Crash

I'll warn you before you click on the link below; this is not for the faint of heart. Track day crash somewhere in the U.K. I don't know what the fate of the rider was, if he eventually succumbed to his injuries or not. I don't see how he could have survived.

So what drives otherwise sane people to want to ride these machines? I have never understood this crowd. The risks are just unbelievable, especially with the speeds these will attain these days. Some one has to do something before this goes much further. Anyway, here it is. Don't let the wife or kids see this, especially if you ride. It's pretty grim.

Fortunately he was wearing full leathers and helmet! That could've gotten ugly.

A neighbor has one of those bikes.

The first time I saw it, I though "Hey neat!"

By the end of the summer, I was plotting to poison their well and burn their house down.

Didn't click either (I've seen enough gruesome photos to know what they look like). I'm guessing young kid on a Hayabusa? GSXR?

Years ago, a heart surgeon I know joked that he was against Oregon's then new law making helmets mandatory. Why? "less raw material for transplants".

Obviously, a helmet didn't help in this case. The human body is fragile...

(edit) I finally clicked on the video...MAN!

I was all ready to get all pissed about that comment. I was going to get on a big soapbox and talk about how its our own judgement that we should rely on, and how its not the government's job to 'save us from ourselves'.

Then I watched the video- and I have to agree. These bikes are just too much danger. It needs to stop.

I almost didn't click the link because I've seen some messed up pics of motorcycle accidents and don't really enjoy them. Eventually morbid curiousity got the better of me. For you folks that didn't click, maybe the OP should have put his text in green, it's a joke, you should all click the link.

Go ahead and click, it's not as gruesome as some might lead you to believe, but be prepared for it.

I used to work for a shop that ran YSR50 races on go-kart tracks and I raced them myself. After I got out of it, they had an incident at a kart track in Waco. A new rider was headed for the pits and didn't really have a clear understanding of signaling his intentions and getting off the racing line. He was hit from behind and knocked chest first into a short chainlink fence post. His wife and child were there and witnessed the fatal accident that we figured was impossible on the little bikes .

I don't understand how he went down so quickly. Must have been oil on the track or something? Brutal.
