earlly targa explodes for "Whos Your Caddy"

I saw the trailer for a new movie called "Whos Your Caddy" on TV and thought i saw an early 911 targa. Sure enough, they blow one up. I hope it was not a decent car. Watch for the 1:06 part of the trailer:

I missed that. I was watched this and a bunch of other trailers the other night at apple.com.

Wow. That looks like a great film. African Americans showcasing the finer points of their culture.

In the great heritage of Soul Plane and Friday, the token black movie of the summer. Further reinforcing all stereotypes, nice.

Here we go again....

When will you uppity white folks get it through your thick skulls that movies like this reflect black culture in the US? Who goes to see these movies? Black people. They think it's funny. That's why these types of movies are successful at the box office. I can't tell you how many of the people I work with can't wait to see this movie. And these are IT professionals, pharmacists, and accountants. They know it's not a "stereotype", it's true to the culture.
So, tell me white people. All about grape soda, Spaghetti as a side dish only, Going to the clubs right before closing time, Courvoisier and Coke. 22" rims. Fried Chicken, fish, fried rice and hot sauce. I just had the discussion today. "It's the way we was raised, man". It's not 100% true. But it hits a very large portion of the black population.
Black people don't need you to defend them.

West Coast, excluded, I'm sure.

So the culture they wish to embrace includes lounging around the ghetto all day getting high and drinking 40s, 20" rims, drive-bys, gambling on the dice game, and macking on hos? Not any of the black people I know.

You're in Wichita for chrissakes.

The people I know don't DO it either. (that I know of? Hmm.)
They certainly relate to it though.
Why would that be?
The man keeping them down?

Not sure that St. Charles, MO is a real center for enlightenment either.

I don't understand the "relate to it" part. How do educated, professional individuals relate to ghetto-fabulous tales of drugs, sex, violence, and laziness? The mere fact that they've gotten as far as they have requires that they have avoided such a life. It's like myself (engineer) saying that I relate to welfare white trash drinking Natural Light in a trailer park. Not my choice of lifestyle. Considering that it reinforces the negative stereotypes that many have, I would think they would want to distance themselves.

Back to the topic about the potential destruction of a good early 911....

You can't see much of the car, even with a frame by frame review of the YouTube clip, but you can see it has no motor (which would be expected).

There are plenty of cars like this one (I have for sale for $2800 -- and that's with the non-running motor with Webers):

that are completely rusted on the underside, but look just fine from the top when viewed from 50 feet away.

I would expect the movie producers were not dumb enough to purchase a perfectly good $20,000+ car and blow it up, when they could get the same effect blowing up a rust-bucket that cost them just a few hundred dollars.

One would think.
Not evidenced here.
Of course that also dosen't explain Beer Fest, Dude, where's my car. etc.
Just relating what I'm told by real, live black people.
Scotch and Sirloin still on Kellogg?

Nah, those movies are just about idiots. Everyone can relate to idiots.

Yup, Scotch & Sirloin is still there. I'm embarassed to admit that in the 3 years I have lived here, I have not been. My wife and I have had plans to eat there several times, but just have not made it. Everyone I talk to claims that their steak is amazing.

Of all the racist Cartman-isms ever, that one doubled me over the hardest...! And then Token finds the damned thing.

I thought Token should've come out with Bootsy Collins glasses on.

Re: the topic at hand, I don't think this "humor" is funny... but neither do I understand how (or why!) black audiences evidently think black men dressing up as fat black women is the epitome of comic expression.

"Token, I get it. I don't get it."

True, but some one financed this train wreck of a movie. Stranger things have happened.

But I would expect somewhere in the operation -- maybe the pyro-guys who stripped the car and prepped it for the effect -- would have said, "Wait a minute, we don't need to destroy a perfectly good car...."

Then again, we are dealing with Hollywood, so maybe I'm expecting too much.
