Euro GP (***Spoiler***)
A fun race. That rain-induced bumber car episode was hilarious.
And a great pass from FA to grab the win. Massa just folded in the last wet. Entertaining. Ian

great race, i love when rain throws off team strategy and they forced to think on the fly.
great job by the red bull team, they deserved their points.... the shunt hamilton took during Q3 was pretty brutal, good to see he was able to take part, he fought til the end.....still a great rookie season.....

Massa said in the post-race interview that the car developed a severe vibration when they put the intermediate rain tires on and that slowed the car. He did a good job of fighting off fernando but the ferrari just wasn't fast enough at the end.
What was fernado b!tching about after the race? Last edited by sammyg2; 07-22-2007 at 08:42 AM.. |

Probably the best race weekend overall this season. Exciting from qualifying until the checkered flag. Actually it'll be entertaining all the way until Thursday with the McLaren/Ferrari showdown in front of the FIA.
Great racing though and hats off to Hamilton - great racing especially after hitting the wall at triple-digit speeds just yesterday. Amazing!

Great race! I finally caught an entertaining F1 race...I don't have cable so I don't see too many...seems like an interesting season also.

I don't see why Massa was so ticked and totally fail to understand why Alonso had any need to apologize to him. It was a tough racing pass, but I didn't see anything that Alonso had to be sorry for.
Only reasons I can think of is that Alonso is angling for a Ferrari ride soon and/or he was pre-empting a complaint from Ferrari disputing the win (as those red whiners are wont to do)..... Dennis

Massa was driving a very wide car trying to hold Alonso off. That contact was mostly because Massa had shut the door a bunch in the previous lap or two on Alonso.
Hamilton's shunt was nasty. Did you see him moving his legs? That had me a little spooked. |

Yeah, the wiggling legs had me concerned that there was ankle pain....as in sprained or broken, but apparently not. I also did not like the fact that he hit the tire wall in the air, a bit higher and he would have been spearing concrete which would have been very bad....

Very good race and had Alonzo not been able to pass Massa McLaren would have filed a complaint against them. He was clearly blocking in several of the last corners before Alonzo was able to pass.
Wish Winklehock had been able to finish. Wonder what happened to Kimi's car...

Anyway you slice it, it's much better than the Schumi Shuffle which we've seen for too many years.

the last few laps put alonso a little higher up on my list. it was nice to see how he handled massa and his blocking attempts. at least two times i saw what could look like possible contact between them and fernando thought better of it. then he had a real good opportunity and it worked.
massa was being a douche blocking. don't think you could even call that defensive driving. he was actually weaving. in the end, just b/c you CAN turn in on someone, once they're half-way up your inside, you better re-think it. no idea what he was complaining about at the end. the fact that he got passed or the fact that there was contact? b/c if it's ab contact, it was entirely his fault. not only did he leave the door open but also he was the one turning into alonso's car and not leaving any 'racing room'. what a b1tch. what did he think was gonna happen? did he just expect another competitor, a racer, to linger behind him until the checker?? LMAO, silly brazillian pratt. +1 for winklehock. would be fun to see him on the podium. talk about jumpstarting your career! the pileup was incredible though watching the safety car gtfo of dodge and then seeing a car jump/slide right through that spot was amazing. someone clearly was on the ball w/ good communication w/ the safety car crew |

I liked the interviews with the team leaders about losing the USGP next year. They all said it was thier most important market.
BTW, the season is/will be one of the best in some time.

I noticed that just before the podium FA and FM were arguing ... in Italian!!! I half expected them to argue in Portuguese, Spanish or even English.
Even though I support FA and like him to win, I think this race has boosted his ego to very high levels. The images of him pointing to the damage in his car and waving "no-no" with his finger were not very "gentleman-like". I hold my opinion that FA is the best driver in the field and that he will win this season and will do even better next season when traction control is removed. |

The tire mark on Alonso's car after the race was clear proof Massa should have let him pass without incident. Alonso was a 1/2 car ahead of him. I never thought much of Massa, but the scene in the reception room where they weighed the drivers was terrible for Massa's image. Alonso did a good job keeping his cool and brushed off Massa's b!tching. Even during the post race press conference, Massa wasn't man enough to admit Alonso was a better driver that day....minutes after Alonso publicly apologized for the contact (something he couldn't control).
Alonso is good in the rain... |

I saw Massa blocking but no more than anyone else does including fernado.
Immediately after the race, alonzo was pointing to his car and *****ing at massa. He must have said something to set massa off like that. |

Coupla whiny girls. I'm surprised they didn't start pulling each other's hair (or in their case, their fashionable little sideburns).

Massa fits right in at Ferrari. That's two races in a row after which Massa has been whining like a little girl. Pretty Pathetic. Massa qualifies well, but his racecraft leaves much to be desired. Unless he is much faster than the rest of the field, he cannot hold his own wheel to wheel.
Remember how Massa was forced into several errors by Lewis Hamilton earlier in the season? He needs some of the ice that runs through his teammates veins and a few more working brain cells.

Kimi ran it out of gas. Pretty obvious if you ask me.
Did you catch the "in depth interview" when they asked him about it shortly after his retirement when he just said "ahhhh. . . hydraulics". They had a good chuckle over that one - as did I.
