You guys have to be really amazed that the 911 (Clarkson's nemesis) beat out Clarkson's baby, the 355.

Makes sense to me. The 911 turbo is the one modern exotic that you can get into and drive everyday as a practical automobile. It deserves it's high #2 rank IMO.

I agree that it deserves to be up there, I am just amazed that Clarkson would allow that to go past his prejudices. On Top Gear his opinions usually beat out logical discourse.

Well,... someone has to be the Simon Cowell of that show, Top
Gear... (actually he was Simon Cowell before Simon Cowell became Simon Cowell) The witty but cynical nay-sayer with strong opinions and a humourous slant is a common character of this type of show. For Top Gear, someone (car maker) has to be the target of some jokes... and certainly it would not be a beloved British mark such as Jaguar or Aston Martin... rather a German mark which is known for drivers sometimes being aloof and spoiled, as well as the car's themselves of which engineering defies standard carmaking is the foil. I dont begrudge Clarkston for his choice of cannon fodder. They are in the entertainment business after all. |

Is this the 100 cars that aired back in 2003 or so? If so, I remember that the 944 Turbo and 928 both placed well...

Isn't this the same jack*** that totally destroyed a early 911 just for fun.

Despite that he has redeemed himself here. Great use of an hour!
