They can listen to my phone calls, spy on me in the shower, cavity search what ever. As long as they do everybody I don't have anything to hide from them. I want them to check everything going on that bus before I get on. Kaboom is too late. We take our freedoms for granted. What WE don't know HAS saved lives. I've got to much life to take care of and they have the job of making sure I and you are safe. To the best of their abilities. Nothing to see here move along!

You'd have been a perfect propagandist for Hitler's Nazi Party. Lenni Riefenstahl would be so proud. Too bad you're 60 years too late, eh?

Keep at it. I'm sure there will be a job here for you soon enough.

Please don't be so casual with my freedom. You may think government is pure as the driven snow and would never abuse power given willingly or taken slyly, but there are those of us that believe in Live Free or Die.

brave men and women have died for our freedom, please don't treat it like a special at Wal*Mart.

Allegedly, you waive your fourth amendment right when you opt to ride public transportation. The argument is that if you want to protect your right, then walk - mass transit is not a constitutional right.

Not that I agree with the process, but how is this searching any different than when you try to board an airplane?

nineoneone 08-03-2007 07:09 AM

I have nothing to hide from you are anyone. My freedoms too! Walk next time. I pay to drive a car, if I paid to ride a public bus then I would be subject to the securities that exist to protect the public. Hitler propagandist, lol

Shaun, I don't take YOUR freedoms casual, Do you want to get on a unsecure bus if there has been threat! So, you think they should post it on the news or interweb that there is some sort of threat to your area or mine. What is wrong with people thinking this is not a WAR. There's no special at wally world on anything I said, What do you have to hide?

Que the flying monkeys, never mind the people behind the curtain.

out of curiosity, are CCW "permits" issued in the state? Be interesting to get a bunch of folks with them to try and get on a bus... :)

Dude, getting a CCW in Indiana is about as hard as buying a pack of smokes.:D

Good, thats the way it is here in Fl... only way better would be to not need permission to defend yourself....

How could you POSSIBLY know that? Wake up...it's a new world. You can't have it both ways as long as there are animals out there who want to kill us. Or haven't you seen the news in the last 7 years?

Which Bus did you say this was happening on?

More Government means less Freedoms...after all they have to justify thier existence somehow and meddling in your life keeps em busy.

I'm curious what people think the right response would be.

Say intelligence and investigation reveals a credible threat that a group is planning to blow up a city bus with a backpack bomb, like is done in other countries all the time. The threat centers around a specific city.

What do you think the right response would be?

1) Do nothing? Or do nothing until *after* a bomb actually explodes? That what some seem to suggest ("There hasn't been any problems on the buses so far, so why do anything?")

2) Shut down all the buses?

3) Put out a public warning? "Hey, we our investigation suggests a credible threat of a backpack bomb on one of our buses. But we don't want to violate any rights, so we won't be checking any backpacks. Carry on, and have a nice day."

What?

That's the problem right there. These 'credible threats' have so far been nothing more than ruses to distract from whatever *****hole the administration has gotten itself into on a given day.

the 08-03-2007 12:48 PM

How do you know that? There's never been *any* credible threat in the US since 9/11? Every single one has been a ruse?

But anyways, I'm still interested in hearing what people think we should do if there is information of a credible threat, as in my example. Just assume it's credible.
