Percussion by Krider
Here is a wonderfull old Percussion rifle by John Krider of Philiadelphia, PA. He worked from about 1850 to @ 1870. Just love his work. He was the maker of the Prototype of the LeMat Revolver before the CW, which went on to CSA fame.

Back in 06 I bought a John Krider Percussion rifle that is better than this one for $6500 after seeing a Slotterbeck 1864 Sanitary Commision Exhibition Rifle in Philliy go for about $11,000 at a Greg Martin auction. That same Slotterbeck rifle was just resold for $12625 at Julias auction in early March.
What is astounding is that another Krider percussion rifle was just sold at Amoskeag Auctions for $23,000.00. and a cased Percussion Shotgun went for 12K and change...I know of a cased Krider that sold Privately for $30,000.00 Looks like I have a WINNER> Auction Item ![]()
