island911 is LOL at that.

island911 also thinks Wayne will be calling MikeZ about a big vinyl "D" to put in front of that big "W." -- "Chalet WD" (edit, for the slower people: "WD" would be Wayne's monogram)

and island911 also thinks on-ramp wants a winnebago with straight pipes.

Put a big ol honkin Pelican on the side.

Then, take it Vegas where we can all meet up for a road trip somewhere. I'll bring the hot dogs.

so turbo diesel? 500 odd ft/lb of dragging strength, nice trailer too. Thing about that setup is it is already cool in the living area when you get to where you are going.

Saw a low boy trailer like that with a tool box with a little fairing on the front of it, looked a little like the front of an airstream, kept the stuff on the trailer from getting as beat up, according to the guy anyway

Man, I've always wanted one of those but could never justify it from a financial stand point. It sure would be cool driving to the river just because the kids and wife would have enough room to move around and play without driving me crazy while I'm driving

My parents recently bought one of those giant RVs with three pop outs.
I asked my dad how he liked it, he said "we could rent a limo to drive us anywhere in the country, and when we get there stay in a 5 star resort and it would still be cheaper than driving this thing".

I told him that he shouldn't care about 5 mpg. he has the money, one day he'll be too old to spend it, so he should drive the snot out of it and not worry about the cost.

RVs depreciate like mad - especially if you buy new. My parents bought a 1 yr/old high end diesel pusher RV used for $260K. Now 2 years later it's worth ~$150K. What's really sick is that new it was nearly $400K

I grew up in a camping travelling family. We went from years in a sedan/tent to renting class C RVs, then renting class A, to purchasing a used class A. I swear we used it for local camping trips to Lake Cachuma and the beach seemingly every other weekend so they got their money out of it. They also had a larger lot and built a RV storage side yard with big hedges so they didn't pay to store it.

I've been pricing out RV options for next summer. I can't believe the costs of rentals these days - they kill you with the mileage costs. It almost seems to be cheaper to stay in hotels and eat out...

I like my Jayco pop up camping trailer. Bought one, then sold at cost I bought for, bought a bigger second one with toilet and show used for $4K several years ago. I use it a few times a year, and not worried about the small amount I spend on maintaining it.
