WOW! What a car. A whole different feeling from my 76 with a 3.0. A friend of mine just took delivery of his last week and only has 374 miles currenty. He needs 1200 or so for the break in, says the dealer. I will never afford one myself, so I will have to stick with mine.

Please, indulge us poor sods with a more elaborate description of how it felt driving it compared to the old timer.

Yup, that would be my pick from the current Porsche line
![]() Too bad it was still in "break-in"... make sure he lets you drive it when it can actually rev over 4K...

Yes, it's pretty, but now to the REALLY important question: WHAT WAS IT LIKE DRIVING THAT BEAST?!

Yes, It is a BEAST!
Corners like it's on rails, shifts smooth, sounds like an Indy car, and the brakes are phenomenal ( because he upgraded to ceramic ) and stop with extraordinary force !! We might have pushed it a little before the factory beak in, but we have hit the red line ( 8500 ) a few times. My friends last Porsche was a 2002 Turbo with mods, and was quicker, but this one is much more fun to drive! It will be a track car and is expected to be at Thunder hill next week. My experience, I had a little trouble getting used to the brakes, they are VERY sensitive. We almost lost our eyes on my first stop from 125 - 60mph! The shifting is short and precise. It feels very comfortable at high speeds. The idle is a little rough, but I have heard, that is normal. I can't wait to drive it hard when it is broken in. ![]() Mine! ![]() |

this may make me sound a bit off, but that yellow one is way more me. Still, ya gotta love those modern brakes.
