8/28 - Lunar Eclipse Tues AM Early
Should be a great view in the West . . . if you don't have clouds.

I hope to stay up and watch. I'm pretty tired though.
I like watching meteor showers, too. KT

"Release tonight" and "smoke test"? Do you write software? Just curious. I am going to set my alarm for 3am and try to take some pictures! If I make it, I'll post some picks from NoCo San Diego. Best, Kurt |

Kurt, I do not write code but I am the liason between Business and Development. In other words, I am a Project Manager. Tonight though, I am a Release Manager for an order management system update. After it is released to production, we have to smoke test it and make sure all the new code has been released.
Pictures will be cool. Best of luck on that...

At my desk here, I can lean back, move the curtain and look out the window at the moon.

Am out in Vegas, just got in from the strip, is not yet pink. Have been on the veranda at the Vodoo Lounge, watching the Victorias' Secret GoGo Girls out on the ledge.
Couple more Margaritas and I won't care what color it turns. |

My wife and I went out and sat in the backyard. Orange from here. I like the way it looks. KT

I woke up and as I was walking out to take some shots I saw a really nice meteor flash!
I took this around 3:20ish am PDT during total eclipse. Here is one of several shots I took ranging from 1 to 8 second exposures: ![]() Nikon D40 w/ 18-200mm VR @ f5.6 - 2.7 second exposure, ISO200 300mm @ 35mm equiv. Best and goodnight! Kurt Last edited by kstar; 08-28-2007 at 02:46 AM.. |

Just caught the end of it - pretty cool, although from my location it looks like the "path" line indicated on the illustration should be closer to vertical - almost directly at the 6:00 position for the "bite" out of the lunar disk.

Did a stop motion movie of the last one (2003? or '04?) with a webcam. Came out OK, but not too detailed.

I was up at 3:30 am. Got my daughter and wife up too. It was worth a look.
Then I went for my run... Troy

Okay, so why don't we have a lunar eclipse once a month somewhere in the world, and then since the span is about 4 hours, any one point should get some sort of lunar eclipse every two months?
