Question Ever See a UFO???

Have you ever seen an object in the sky that you would consider unidentified? This is a subjective thing and has very little validity in reality. But one time as a kid I did see the big enchilada...

As a youngster, sometime in the Spring of 1973, I camping in the Mojave desert with my family.
I remember a courageous kangaroo rat running around us sitting by the camp fire. I recall feeding it some scraps of food.
I was sitting next to my older brother who was leaving for college after the vacation.

The evening sky was beautiful clear black with endless visibility. The Milky Way was very obvious
and other constellations were distinguishable like the Pleiades and Cassiopeia
I began looking up at the stars to see if I could see anything with any motion. I like to try to spot satellites
moving in the heavens. Like a star lightly moving in one direction.
.
My attention focused on the west when a bright white light ( Looking similar to Jupiter in its highest magnitude)
flew across the sky over head (No sound). At first I thought it was a meteor, but traveling too slow.
Then it did a right angle turn and moved north rapidly. I grabbed by brother and pointed it out and
we began watching it for a few seconds.
I mentioned it to my father who was sitting with us but facing the other direction and talking
to my mother. He says “Ya right!” Anyway, it disappeared over the horizon going very fast.
My dad started joking about little green men from Mars, when I noticed it again from the
same direction coming back. I yelled at everybody to “Hey look” and there it was again
traveling overhead and turning suddenly a went down over the southern horizon. Needless to say, I couldnt sleep a wink that night.. What ever it was
it didnt seem like it was (FROM HERE)

I have no idea what we saw!

We were camping near Edwards AFB and maybe it was a laser targeting test?????
Not and SR-71.

The UFO story comes up at family gatherings and still raises a interesting question. What was it?

Last year I took a train to San Antonio and somewhere in the middle of Texas late at night my wife and
I saw a blob of florescent green float across the sky???WTF…I dunno?

Have any of you ever seen anything like this?

Bob

I lived around Lancaster/Palmdale and saw a lot of odd things in the sky at night. I suspect most of it was from Plant 42 or Edwards.

red_ufo was a wacky guy who posted here a few years back. He was finally banned (not by me). I think he floats in here from time to time under other names...not sure.

The best info I've ever gotten from a guy in a tin foil hat.

Every night I see the UFOs and the little grey men...they say," take me to your leader" They take one look at me and leave...especially after I start to tell them what leadership is. They say as they go, "if we wanted intellectual discourse we sure wouldn't be here talking to you. You can't spell and your grammer su[ks."

My secretary came in about a week ago crazed about a ufo she had seen in the woods behind her house. She had pictures:

Over 100 reports came into 911. The next day the local news said that NASA released a statement saying that it was gases from a reconnaissance rocket that were illuminated by the rising sun.

I personally have seen a few wild things in the sky but I don't believe for a second its green men.

No, but I have met an alien. He was disguised as a bum in LA. He was pulling used cigarette buts out of an ashtray in front of the Downtown Marriot over on Figueroa.

I have a witness.

Terry, those pics look like like what I would see from San Pedro when Vandenberg would send up rockets.

Where I live I have a view of Catalina island and the channel, do I see objects flying that I can't identify? Sure... Do I think they are from outer space? No.

I believe that there is a multitude of man made objects flying around that the general public doesn't know about and a plethora of natural phenomena that gets misinterpreted.
