Apple's newest PUSH -cheaper "iPhones" & double billing for songs
read the play by play here; http://www.engadget.com/2007/09/05/steve-jobs-live-apples-the-beat-goes-on-special-event/
...it's a good read. (esp the comentary) :D The competition exists with Nokia and their N800 (N800 has 2x the screen res of the iphone, better skype phone w/ video, but less internal memory) |
The double billing for ring tones is dumb, IMO.
But there is an easy way to grab any 30 second clip from the iTMS - typically the best or most memorable part of the song - and use it as an iPhone ring tone . . . for free. New stuff looks nice. Best, Kurt |
meanwhile, Sony folds the tent
http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20070830-sony-euthanizes-sony-connect.html Yeah, Apple really is getting it wrong ;) http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.en...9/dsc_7586.jpg |
Is that "Million" . . .w/ an "M" ? :D . . and it's free, you say?
Just think if MacDonalds had given away hamburgers for free. Why they would be in the Trillions (w/ a "T") by now. --oh wait. Job's is saying again; "This is a revolution." Really?!? . .."this market saturation" I could believe. yeah, reminds me of i-omega. (over hyped, and on it's way down as, every other electronic device now plays a jingle or two . .. million) ;) |
Flash-only on the iPod 'touch'? Lame. Put at least 30GB in there and I'll think about it.
|
I want to see the naysayers shorting AAPL... and sharing their results.

Not too shabby. And that's just music players. :) Best, Kurt |
Years ago Dell and Gateway both tried the retail thing and failed.
They all said Apple would fail. Based on Apples success Dell recently decided to jump back into the retail fray. Dell will fail again because they just don't get it. When you went to a Dell or Gateway store you picked your system, paid, then left WITHOUT your purchase. You had to go home and wait until they built it and shipped it to you. Dell is sticking to that business model again. I don't know about you but if I plunk down a grand or so on a computer I want to take it home right then and there. |
So the 8GB iPhone drops in price from $600 down to $400. ...33% cut in price.
I've got to ask you early iPhone buyers; How do ya like them Apples? |
price of doing business. You really think I didn't know that was going to happen? Timing was a bit quicker that I assumed, but only an idiot would not expect it.
16gig will probably come out at $499. Yeah, no other manufacturer ever drops prices or improves the spec. You are such a hater ;) |
uhh. . . 33% in a couple months? You expected that? Wow, you are smart. Does a smart guy, like yourself, think they overestimated their market? Or is this just standard pricing?
|
I'm disappointed that the ipod touch is only 16GB. I guess I will be waiting another year to upgrade as I need way more space than that. my 4G 20GB is full as it is and that doesn't hold video or pics.

We like our little 2GB nano. So far 500 (or so) songs out of our ~50GB library is plenty to bring along. My buddy has the big (40 or 60 GB) video iPod. It's very cumbersome in size (compared to nano) and navigating all that music to find what you want can get tedious. I know I know...playlists...I'm just too lazy, or busy, to sit down and mess with them. |
Some "reports" have the iPhone as the #1 smart phone in the US market . . . in just one month.
I'll wait for hard numbers, but I would not be surprised to see it follow a similar path as the Pod family. Sorry this really bothers some folks. :) Best, Kurt P.S.: I <3 my iPhone. |

I was one of the first to jump ship before the lay offs - I saw it coming...they tried to tell me otherwise... Then there were layoffs, then they axed the CEO... |

$200? Big deal. I started buying chunks of Apple stock at $25. I couldn't be happier. :) |
My 1st gen iPod just died after 5 years of hard use. I ordered a new black Nano 8GB today. Looks pretty good. I like the form factor.

Where's Microsoft in all this? I mean...well...where's Microsoft in all this...? It seems like Apple is taking over the gadget world.
This reply typed on a Mac, btw. |
