Hot Fuzz - anyone else watched it?

I don't know if you would find it half as funny as I did, but if you liked "Shaun Of The Dead" the humor in this will probably appeal to you too.
It starts off a bit slow and seems almost serious, but soon gets down to a healthy level of stupidity before engaging full stupidity overkill.
My only concern is that there is too much British humor in there for anyone not familiar with the quirks to understand a lot of the stuff that I found funny. I sat in the theater watching it with an American girlfriend and ended up having to explain why I kept falling off my chair crying. I would think that she didn't have a sense of humor, but she doesn't mind hanging around with me in public so she must do.
I'd be interested to hear your opinions.

I liked Sean of the Dead. Probably much of the "British" humor was over my head, but I really liked the bit about trying to blend in with the zombies (as opposed to fighting them like in every other zombie movie). I also really liked that they gave all of the zombies civil-service jobs at the end...

Shaun was great. Hot Fuzz was a bit of a let down.

If I'd seen Hot Fuzz first, I probably would have skipped Shaun.

"Fuzz" is a great film. A bit better than "Shaun" IMHO.

Suggest renting "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels" if you like either film.

I loved lock stock and two smoking barrels, I only made it 30 minutes into Hot Fuzz before I turned to my wife and apologized for my selection.

Already got that and "Snatch" (the movie) although those are a lot darker humor than HF which seemed more like an extensive plot to give them a good excuse for the big scene. Very funny though.

Saw it on a flight to London this summer. Really funny. Some scenes were so over the top but enjoyed it just the same........
