Hardees / Carl's Jr
Too bad the food sucks so bad, otherwise I'd go after seeing this one.

I can't open the links at work so I don't know what they are about but I have a comment about their latest commercial.
It's the one that is a blatant cheap rip off attempt at hot for teacher by van halen. Then it gets worse with a bunch of punk wannabee posers who pretend to be ghetto rappers. First time I saw that I fired off a nasty-gram to Carl's telling them what I think about the commercial and the idjits who thought it actually might be a good idea. Then I told them neither I or any of my family will spend a penny at one of their "restaurants" as long as that commercial is in use. Not very often I get pissy over a commercial but this was one. |
yeah, you're not gonna want to open these at home. :)
I wish to god there was a Carl's Jr. in MA or within 200 miles. |

You did see my comment about the music & kids:mad: |
Yep, that second one pissed me off. I figured it might be the same commercial but couldn't be sure.
The first one was kinda nice, but doesn't belong on TV IMO. |
Hmmm...some fast food chains sell sex and food, while others sell God and food:

dd... the chick-fil-a guy has a very strong commitment to his personal values, and all of the stores are closed on Sunday. However, he does not use religion in his advertisements. I don't know that him making his belief public knowledge is selling "god and food" or even using god to sell food.
30 years ago, Hardee's had good food. One day they were bought up by Spartan Foods and the quality nosedived. Eventually, they had such a bad reputation that they were unprofitable and were bought up by Carl's Jr. For a short while, Carl's Jr. made some real improvements in the menu offerings and the stores themselves. But for the last 5 years, it seems to be steadily slipping back into the realm of "food that I wouldn't feed a dog". (Based on my experience with Hardee's restaurants in the upstate SC area. YMMV.) |
I loved Carl's Jr. when I lived in Socal 20 years ago...
Hardees is okay. I like their 'six dollar burger'. But the service is ungodly slow. |

I'm not saying either Chick-fil-a owner S. Truett Cathy or former Carl's Jr. owner Carl Karcher or departed Ray Kroc, (McDonald's) push (pushed) their beliefs on customers, I'm just saying they're there. In fact, about fifteen years ago, there was a huge push out here for people to boycott Carl's Jr. because of Karcher's political leanings, which are, in part, contained in the quote below: Quote:

Fact is, many protest businesses based on their politics. I know quite a few people who won't shop at Ikea because they support gay lifestyles, won't buy Ford products because Henry Ford was anti Semetic, wouldn't buy GM products in the early 90s because GM supplied South Africa police the vehicles they used against blacks during Apartheid. Won't go to Walmart or Home Depot because they hire illegals. The list goes on... |
I thank God for making cows so tasty.

Carl Kartcher is rolling over in his grave. He was a very religious man. I went to a student/ business seminar in high school and he passed out free burger coupons with religious quotes on the back.

I just wish we had an In-N-Out in this part of the country. There are days that I swear I'd drive 100 miles for one of those if I could.

i loved Carls when i lived in So Cal 10yrs ago.
we finally have one up here 10miles from my house...unfortuatly it isnt near anywhere i need to go. loved the 1/2lb burger with the onion rings on top....mmmmm grease is tasty.... always loved the ads but i'm a dirty middle aged man...;) |

Taste is lost in the distance. Popeyes in LA sucks. In New Orleans, though, with an order of dirty rice...hmmmm! |
Thank God for my DVR so I don't have to watch this drivel...
Yeah the ladies in the ad are hot but if I want to see that kind of stuff I could switch on MTV (I don't) or better yet drop by Hooters and get up close and personal. :D Carl's Jr does make a good burger though... haven't been there for a while only because I live in S. Cal and I am spoiled with a multitude of burger options. If I am going to have a burger it is usually at the local brewery. A restaurant chain around here called Islands has the best burger I have tasted... at seven bucks without fries it better be good! And all this "I'm not going to shop here or there because of so and so political/religious beliefs". If we all stuck to that we would never leave the house. |
