Grossed out two days in a row...

What the hell! For the second day in a row, I've nearly drunk a fly that's gotten into my Starbucks coffee through the freakin' slit in the lid.

After taking a sip of my drink, I felt something lumpy on my tongue that was also a little bit fuzzy. I immediately spat out what's probably been God-knows-where: garbage, dog *****, people's food.

Last night when it happened, I gargled and with Pravda vodka (then spat). Tonight, I just brushed my teeth.

Hmmm...it's just not the sort of protein I'm looking for at the moment.

Hey, how'd this end up in the tech section? I could have sworn I was in OT.

Years ago I walked in to the studio of one of my photographers. I inhaled to start talking and an f'ing fly went down my throat--the photog and his assistant started laughing their asses off as I was hacking--they said that they had been trying to kill that fly all day. Yuck.

Its the ****** fruit flys that get into your wine that have me in fits. Little buggers are hard to kill. I have taken to putting a saucer on top of my wine glass lest I find the bastards doing the back stroke in my merlot.

Mostly redneck flys around here, won't go near a glass of wine. We put out a puddle of 'shine for them occasionally.

Set out a glass of Lambrusco and go to bed, all of the fruit flies will be dead in the morning.

You could always ask Wayne to send you that spider he found. . .

I'm sure that thing would EASILY take care of your fly problem.

If it happened inside the store, sure. By now I'd own Starbucks. Believe me, there's plenty of other things to sue Starbucks over. Barristas picking their noses while making coffee, coughing in the coffee, not washing their hands.

I'm afraid these are just some of the deficits of the modern lifestyle.

DD you have been living in West LA for toooooo long. You have become an "Uppity" West Coast Politically Correct Liberal Yuppie. I bet you can't wait for Hillary to become president ...Geezus, in the rest of the world they would consider the fly to be valuable protein.

One more reason to love southern CA - no bugs. The occasional creepy lookin' spider or rattlesnake or coyote jumping out in front of your Ducati on the 405, but no bugs.

When's the last time you looked down a manhole once the cover's been removed? The one on our street was so full of cockroaches, it reminded me of what ate Paul Winfield in "Damnation Alley."
