Massa is in a good place to make sure Hammi does not finish.
That would never happen.... would it?You have to wonder how light Hammi and Massa are. Massa was blistering fast and even admitted he messed up and though he lost pole. I know Ferrari was not going to gamble 1st place but Massa is historically fast there and I have to wonder if he has a good fuel strategy. I have to wonder (or is it hope) that McLarens reliability streak may end here. They have not had any issues all season that I can recall, maybe once with Alonso's car. It seems like MS could not catch a break last year maybe the gremlins will move to the other team now? Off to watch last years race in anticipation of the excitement tomorrow.

I thought it was odd Hammi came out in front of Kimi twice, and after watching Q3 a second time can understand now why he was being called out on it.
Hamilton embroiled in yet more controversy http://www.planetf1.com/story/0,18954,3213_2814273,00.html Quote:

Maybe he's working his way back to take out LH?
I just hope Hammy can get to 5th.

Coming into todays race I had concluded the kid did a great job this season and deserved the win. I just did not want to see Alonso get it.
But, as the Speed announcers said, Hamilton beat Hamilton. Why he was racing Alonso in the Senna S's is beyond me, why he raced Kimi in China was another blunder. He learned a lot this year and will be up there fighting again next year, I only see good things for this kid. In the meantime...... I predicted Kimi at the beginning of the season, and while it took some miracles he did it, I expected a more commanding season from him. Awesome!!

Well done to Kimi. A deserving world champion.
Glad the season is over... MMMmmmm LH gives up 17 points in 2 races, McLaren has hydraulic problems in the last race after being bullet proof all season, LH stops 3 times.... I think it was a set up. Kimi is a deserving world champion and everybody would have brought up the "spy story" had FA or LH won it. The sponsors are happy (they can blame LH for losing it to pressure).... LH had more fuel than any of the other drivers.... Never mind.... Again well done Kimi.... PS I thought team orders were not allowed in F1.... |

Like I said before, Raikonnen will take it...the FIA doesn't want McLaren to win anything.

Interesting: I heard post-race rumors that BMW and Williams were summoned for some sort of altered fuel investigation, but that the FIA dropped the inquiry due to lack of evidence. (Were BMW and Williams to have been DQ'd, Hamilton would have bumped up 3 more spots and taken the title.)

Whew... what a race! And also unbelievable ending for the season.
I hope Finns can win both championships again as Häkkinen and Mäkinen did in 1998.

Who could say what would have happened next but with all the debris on the track we could easily see blow tires and off track excursions that would only be described as bizarre. Then throw into the mix the revelation that the FIA has a covert, wild squirrel training facility on the Island of Malta for just such an occasion and we get scenarios that would make Oliver Stone proud.

Henry I agree... I guess Jim was just teasing with the conspiracy theory...
Also Kubica, Rosberg and Heidfeld could have taken each other out several times, giving LH the WC. Again I am not a Ferrari fan (funny, being born and raised in Italy... but that is different story) but I am glad Kimi won the WC. |
