So, did this guy deserve the taser or what?

Seems to me he wanted to hog the mic and refused to leave when told his time was up. What do you do when someone refuses to leave the mic and when does it become a disruption? He's clearly resisting arrest and a general loudmouth.

911boost 09-18-2007 08:23 AM

Yes, John Kerry needed to be taserd. Why did they make the kid do the buffalo dance and not him, is my question.

MichiganMat 09-18-2007 08:25 AM

From this left coast Lefty, yes, yes, yes, taze the little bastard in the face.

Free speech does not mean you get to act like a douche.

Rick Lee 09-18-2007 08:27 AM

Ha ha! I was thinking that too. Kerry needed to be tasered, especially after talking for two hrs.

widgeon13 09-18-2007 09:11 AM

He probably didn't deserve it but obviously, he wouldn't shut-up and was resisting. I suppose they could have walloped him w/ a nightstick and that would have shut him up.

He sort of looked ME, so I suppose he could have had explosives strapped to his body and intending to blow up the entire audience if they would not let him continue. WTF, who knows, the kid was and is a DB as stated above.

I'm sure he will have a lawyer if he doesn't already and his tuition for graduate school will be fully paid now. We'll be seeing and hearing more from the dickhead and my last thought is GWB is obviously responsible for all this anyway.

Unless he is really stupid, he will most likely think twice before he acts that way again so, mission accomplished.

If one had an explosive device attached to their person with an electronically activated switch, would it be possible for the tazer to set off the device?

Rick Lee 09-18-2007 09:30 AM

I hope he loses that lawsuit. I don't know why cops are issued tasers if the city just rolls over and settles every time the cops use them. I'd much rather be tased than get a case of nightstick rash.

Mule 09-18-2007 09:41 AM

Should have been taken to the ground, cuffed & stuffed. If it happened at a Republican event every dilwick from Rosy Odonell to RFK jr to Alec Baldwin would be screaming fascism for months.

stevepaa 09-18-2007 09:46 AM

I think i would prefer a good hit in the leg from a nightstick than risk cardiac arrest from a taser.

Isn't this a perfect situation for someone just to turn off that mike, and then if he starts yelling, arrest him for disruption.

No , the Republicans would have screened him from entering:D

Overpaid Slacker 09-18-2007 09:48 AM

I'd have tasered the stupid jacka$$. I been tasered; it's just the discomfort I would like to visit upon this moron and his ilk.

The arresting officer is black, so I'm pretty sure this is a hate crime. A 50,000 volt hate crime. Electrified racism. Can't we all just get along?

mikester 09-18-2007 09:57 AM

Seems like he made some poor choices...in a situation like that he attempted to assert control that he did not have.

I guarantee you would not...the tazer is excruciatingly painful but gone in 15-20 minutes, the right hit from the baton will have you in limp mode for the next 6 weeks.

That's exactly what happened. He had already asked a few questions and wouldn't stop. So they killed his mic. When he kept at it, the police started to move him away from the mic. At what point would you stop letting this idiot try to control the event?

Rick Lee 09-18-2007 10:05 AM

I don't know if a taser is different from a stun gun, but I believe most cops who train with them also have to get a taste of it ini training. AFAIK, no cop would ever volunteer to take a physical beating with a nightstick. But I believe most of them do volunteer to be tased in training. So tasing can't be all that bad. And if you have a heart condition, that's all the more reason not to behave in a whay that might get you tased. I believe the cops do not ever tase without warning. Some people just don't choose to take the warnings seriously.

911boost 09-18-2007 10:10 AM

I have been tasered in training. Hit me with the juice any day of the week over a club to head or leg no contest.

Where do you guys think he was in the political spectrum? He was asking why Kerry didn't challenge the '04 election, leading me to believe he was ultra left... Or was he just there to cause trouble?

Rick, could not tell what happened from the slide show information. Sounds like they did the right thing in removing him.

Video does not play on my feed.

If the cops ask you to do something and you don't, and then they try to force the issue and you resist, then yes, you deserve to get tased. You're lucky it ain't the old days when they'd smack you with a club or piston whip you.
