Like the administration in power this Board is full of zipperheads.
|
Our administration that is currently in power is living proof that Evolution and the survival of the fittest isn't true. Neanderthals still live and their motto is, if you don't understand something beat it to death with a club.
What has the Bush administration done with regards to Iran. Nothing but antagonize and alienate a country that was allready fearfull of American meddling in its affairs. The US scares Iran silly. First it was the Axis of Evil spiel, then talk of regime change and now surgical air strikes. Remember they know from past history that the US has the power to wipe them off the face of the map before breakfast is served. How stupid do U have to be not to see the effect America has upon them. Does anybody remember the help the Iranians gave the US with regards to the Taliban. Does anybody remember that the Iranians were helpfull in the case of downed American pilots landing in Iran during the Gulf Wars. I guess not. Typical zipperhead mentality, attached at the brain to the domestic media outlet in the Living room and the mass confusion pablum they spew daily. |

The more he talks, the more people he convinces to bomb his ass.
I agree that Bush is likely to bomb (+ use SF on the ground in some numbers) before he leaves office. |

If one should interpet what Ahmadinejad says into Iranian culture, he comes off with as much sanity as say Bush or Hillary does. He makes sense to his constituency, perhaps with as bit of pandering to his base. But we all know about pandering to ones base now don't we.... |

During Mr Aberjawoockys interview on the C Rose show he gave five really world, concrete examples of why Nuclear weapons are useless and a waste of dinero.
Do the Iranians want a bomb???? Hmmm really good question, they sure have been sending messages to the US and world that they are pursuing one? If I had to make a bet I would err on the side of caution and say yes. But why? Perhaps they feel it would gain them some healthy respect for their family values and be able to keep the US off their backs. One doesn't hear Bush talking about regime change in N Korea now does one? |
Maybe the audience on this Board should be aware that the first step towards war is to DEMONIZE your enemy.

Old tabs learned something from fastpat..
Most likely they want the bomb - why not - the Israelis, Indians and Pakistanis(paid for by the Saudis) have some.. It is not all about us. The US. But the regime is "revolutionary" by nature, they do have much support within sectors of society, have a religious zeal and seem to have designs beyond raising the standard of living of their growing millions. A scary situation.. |
Iran is yet another shining example of what happens when religion is allowed to have any influence whatsoever into secular decision making or politics.
We ought to look in the mirror a bit in that context. |
For being "revolutionary" they sure have not been very successfull in spreading it.
If your talking about relious zeal...yeah...but Mormons and Jehovahs come to my door spreading the word also. We certainly don't think of bombing the Bee Hive now do we. |

Are you comparing people of faith running for elected office or holding office in this country to the Mullahs running Iran for the past 30 years? |

QUOTE] No Fastpat was just an idiot. Abe Lincoln was the best President the US ever had. He had clarity of vision, had empathy and had iron resolve. When he looked at you it was as if he could look right through you. He was a man of serious purpose. Some people just didn't like that purpose. What I am trying to accomplish is to make the other guy understandable. To understand the effect America has on other peoples. Americans are whoafully ignorant of other people and cultures. It has a lot to do with geography. To the North are the Canuks and since there are so few of them we hardly know that they are there. To the South its Mexicans and all we do is hand them a check for cleaning and gardening services rendered. We are seperated from the rest of the world by 2 major oceans and are stuck on a hugh landmass that makes it difficult to make it to France. Americans substitiute Paris, Venice, Egyptian Pyramids with casinos in Las Vegas. Why actually go there when you can visit a casino with a theme. As a consquence Americans are easily mislead especially by a Media that wants to keep Beer in your refer and a new SUV in your garage. Let alone a demagog looking for an issue to garner votes on. The USA is the 1000 pound Gorilla in the room militarily and 500 pounds economically. When GW Bush says your part of the "Axis of Evil" after 911, you gotta be afraid, very afraid. If you notice that the former Presidnet of Iran Khojomeni or whatever...was defeated in an election ONLY AFTER Bushy made his speech. Doesn't one think that Ahmadinejad was the Iranian reaction to that speech. Iranian rhetoric sure stepped up after that...and the bomb issue sure came to light after that speech. If your walking past a graveyard after dark you might whistle in the dark to! |
