Kermit and friends - BUSTED! Frog intruder

Following Jim's post the other week about his tree frogs, here's some more.
I mentioned in that thread that I found a tree frog sitting on top of the wastepaper basket in my upstairs bathroom and couldn't think of how he got in the house. The only way I could think that he could've got there was that he climbed down the vent for the downpipe and got in via the toilet. Well, Saturday my stepson called me upstairs and there wasthe frog again! I assumed it was the same one, but they all look the same to me. I caught the intruder and put him outside once again.
Tonight I wandered upstairs to see if I had anymore visitors. There were none in the house, but look what I saw out of the window...

That is the top of the downpipe which confirms my suspicions. BUSTED!

Now I need to get them out and cover the top with some mesh.

If they were making their mating calls all night you would be blasting walls out of your house trying to rid them in a half psychotic sleep deprived delirious state. Trust me I know.

Of course I'll be nice to them. They don't keep me awake at night and the only reason I don't want them in the house is so they don't come in, get stuck, and dry out.
I'm trying to find a way to get a mesh guard over the vent pipe over without them inside. If anyone has any suggestions I'd love to hear them please.

You're a sick man, Cesiro.

Come move to L.A., where urban sprawl and pollution have just about killed off all wildlife. Well, except for crickets, which are freakin' everywhere in this house we just moved into last month. Fortunately, these seem to be some sort of mutated silent variant. They also glow in the dark...

Chameleon. They love crickets and they are old world creatures. Your son would love them! OK, they don't make cool dinosaur sounds, but boy, can they hiss!

While my son would no doubt love a chameleon (which is another thing he runs around the house, yelling out to no one in particular), I think our household is OK, for now. Crickets are considered good luck for Chinese. So while my wife is a bit squeamish at the "bugginess" of crickets, I have little problem having them hop around the place. I just pick them up and deposit them outside. I think the cat considers them prey, though, as a good number of them seem to be partially dismembered before I even get to them.

They will eat your skeeters. Worth keeping around I'd think.

One of the reasons for keeping them around, but I'm suprised the frogs aren't fatter than they are considering how much I get bitten when I go outside.
That pipe is probably a great place for them to hang out. Nothing can get them down there and the food probably comes to them.
I actually like the frogs, they're pretty cool, and I haven't noticed any noise from them like Jim had with his. I just don't want them to come in the house and expire.

crafty one

Every night when I get home from work, I let the dogs out and there is a frog at the back door. I think it waits for me to turn the light on which attracts bugs.
