eBook Readers?
Has anyone tried these?
The latest ones (e.g. Sony's) seem to have a white, paper-looking display, not a typical LCD computer screen. They have become pretty small, and still hold hundreds of books. What a great thing, to go on a trip with all the travel guides, light reading, classics you always mean to get to, etc, and without breaking your back carrying them all. However, when I went to eBook.com (80,000 titles) and browsed, I was really unimpressed. My current favorite murder mystery series (by Donna Leon) - nope. C.S. Lewis - only one title. A popular fly fishing writer I like (John Gierach - one title. Military historian John Keegan - only three titles. I mean, it was like trying to find something to read at a tiny second-hand bookstore in a town with only one stoplight. Lots of textbooks and recent best-sellers, though. So, as much as I want to like the idea, it doesn't seem ready for me yet. Anyone find the ebook thing works for them? Any thoughts on when a lot more books will be available in ebook form?
