Offers, Offers. Offers
Yesterday a LV car "SHARK" came to visit wanting to buy my cars.
He offered $18,000.00 on my not running well 69 911S and He offered $35,000 in cash and a late 90s or early 00s 500SL MB (old body style SL MB, he said he had $14,000 in it) wt 70,000 miles on it in exchange for my 69 Mach1 with 428SCJ. Very clean MB. I said I'll think about it.

So you're wondering what to do with the $53,000 and the new Mercedes you have?
I say go down to the Bellagio, put $20k on red and see what happens.

Hmmm....are you in a hurry to dump these cars? If not, I'd pass on the offer. I've seen photos of both cars, and they're very nice. A Mercedes whatever, especially a later one in partial trade, is a turn off to me.

Tabs is thinking about the entertainment value of ongoing dialogue with The Shark.

Am I the only one who took Theodore (aka Tabs) seriously?

I know you know the value of things, so I know you know to say no on Mach 1.

Sell the "S" Tabby...after the initial sadness, you'll feel a burden being lifted....(edit) Besides, you know deep down that you'll never part with the $$$$ to have it restored.

He first offered 28K... 29K on the Mach then bumped to the low 30s and I said I would burn the car before I sold it to him for that...then he went to 35K and then added the MB he drove up in...
NOPE, NOPE, NOPE... My Mach may not be perfect cosmetically..but it was an absolute GROUND UP MECHANICAL restoration. I MEAN EVERYTHING WAS DONE...From the rear bumper to the front...the motor was built to be bullet proof....60 hours went into the polishing and porting of the heads alone...that should give U an idea of th extent I went to.. My car is the only car Bill Thomas ever restored...he doesn't even do his own cars...If any of you remember the guy at the Pomona Swap Meet who had the rows of Ford Differentials in the Black boxes for sale, thats Billy. I knew before the guy ever showed up he was going to low ball me...to the max...

Just remember: A car not for sale is only worth what someone will not pay for it.
Or something like that . . . . . . . ![]()

Come up to the right number and the car goes to a new home.... no doubt...
The 911 on th another hand is something that has sentimental value to me... and the money isn't going to go anywhere on that car...

Went to the Beinfield show at the Riv on Friday.. Remember those ole Pennsylvania Flintlocks I showed ya all a while back...Well I showed em to Little John Gangle his self. The unsigned one 2.5K to 4.5K and the signed one $4.5K to 8K..with "I wouldn't sell it for 5K" comment... So next May adios...
I also brought in another ole US military rifle in 30-40 I just found... a variation known as the Philiphine Constabulary Rifle. A 1899 Krag Carbine, restocked with a shortened 1898 rifle stock to accomodate a bayonet. Seems those are rather rare to the tune of 2.5K to 4.5K...do ya think I knew something or was it just luck to buy it for 850? Maybe this will be the determinate if it was just luck or was it knowledge...how bout a S&W 44 Mag....4" Barrel....5 SCREW made in 1956....with black factory presentation case...for $650.
