Cheap and Bad Beer

Rick Lee's Van Halen thread where he discusses his drinking of Milwaukee's Best got me to thinking about some of the cheapest and worst beer I have ever had.

Number 1 on my list of cheap and bad is Buckhorn Beer.

Schaffer is pretty bad, but worst might be Mandingo. Its probably actually malt, but I couldn't tell at the time.

My favorite cheap beer to drink is Natty Light.

The worst thing I ever drank was miller high life lite, although I also hate Coors Light

I gave up drinking cheap beer after college. Life is too short to bother with cheap beer. If it's not at least halfway decent, I pass and get water or wine instead.

Iron City - tastes likeit was made with water straight from a Pittsburgh retention pond.

Chili Beer from Cave Creek AZ was put near intolerable - but not cheap.

Narragansett Beer - $5 for a case - none cheaper, none worse...

Natty really isn't too bad. Considering the price, and the competition.

If any of you ever end up in Utica, NY, get yourself a sixpack of Utica Club. Super cheap, super good.

But back to BAD beer.

Brew 102! I think 102 was it's ranking out of the worst 100 beers. The Los Angeles brewery was almost on top of the 101 fwy. Sold for about $1 a six-pack 30 years ago. The brewery was demo'd in the early 80's, I believe. Nobody cried.

and I'm a cheap wino. Bud in a can forever baby.

Bimbleman's Light. "If you want a beer real bad, we've got a real bad beer". Anyone remember that?

Do those beers have a puzzle inside the cap?

I remember buying brew 102 for $2.09 a 12 pack. it was almost like non-alcoholic beer, you'd get full and get a headache before you ever got drunk.

Not cheap, but a couple of years ago someone gave me two six packs of Spaten. I almost gagged one down, ended up pouring the rest of em down the drain. For me to do that you know it must have been rotten putrid bitter garbage. but I'm sure someone with a "sophisticated" pallet will tell me it's good tho.

Yuengling Chesterfield Ale. About the worst I've ever tasted. I can drink their lager, and I like their B&T, but their Chesterfield has to be made with NJ sludge water, even PA water doesn't taste that bad.
