Greetings from Sweden. Pics.

In my back yard this fantastic autumn morning. A roe deer family of three. I live in a little village right on the beach with a small area of wood right around the back of the property. These deer normally do not come down all the way here. Most of them live 5 miles up in a larger forest. These guys stuck around for an hour or so. Very nice. Unfortunately I was so fascinated I didnīt think of the camera until they were about to leave. Hence the low quality pic.

Daily transport during nice autumn days like this. About to be stopped by the dreaded salt truck any day now.

Greetings right back at you, Markus! I love the Fall. Beautiful foliage and crisp autumn air make for great Porsche driving.

I absolutely dare you to tag one of those and put it on the hood of your car and drive around town with it....

You have to put a gun rack in the rear window first, then put your deer on the hood. Gotta love the fall, with all the little kids catching cold, job security.

On the beach, eh? How about a pic of your sea view? My cousins have a great cabin with a sauna right on the Bothnia Sea near O'vik.

Very cool, Markus. Those look like our white tails. It's kind of fun having semi-tame deer around. While I am a hunter, I still like seeing them like this. The apple orchard owner that I have stayed with for years on my hunting trips would no sooner shoot one of "his" deer from the yard than one of his own dogs. Wouldn't be "hunting" anyway. Hopefully there is no hunting in your area, so those "backyard" deer are in no danger due to their comfort around the house and people.

Nice! Your english has gotten really good, close to 100% proficiency, IMO. Can your time on this BB take any credit for that? Is there much english spoken in your part of Sweden? I want to go there so badly.

This gang comes around all winter in my yard(?) woods. We have had as many as 9 at once. My wife went out to get the paper one morning only to be met by a 10 point buck in the driveway. We have been told by the game commission not to feed them this year because of this "wasting disease" we have here and they don't want them congregating. They are great to watch out the window all winter, better than TV.

+1 My mother's family is from Norway. Is the climate any better in Sweden? What kind of annual temperatures do you see?

The problem with deer is that they are a premier transport vehicle for tics. In the south of Sweden a disturbingly high percentage of the tics are infected by Borreliosis (Lyme disease). The ticks jump ship all over the back yard clinging sinisterly to the high grass with an ambush strategy to grab the first kid that comes along.

Thanks Denis. I can honestly say that besides English medical literature, Pelican BB is the only place for communication in English. So yes, you guys can rightfully take all the credit. I have actually noticed myself, in situations where English language is required, that my skills have improved considerably since I came on here.

Sweden is long and narrow going south-north, so there are several climate zones. Norway (at least the south) has a slightly milder climate with perhaps a little more rain. Here in the south of Sweden the summer temps are around 20 deg Celsius. In winter around zero, not often below - 5 deg C.

Tobra, actually we have had a pretty unusual year climate wise (as others on the globe) with a very warm and dry spring, a ridiculously rainy summer and now we have a fantastic October. Probably has had an impact on the viral potential for starting epidemics. Many of the kindergartens are still playing outside most of the days, limiting the contamination potential for the poor virus community. Thus, so far - knock on wood- we have still a very comfortable situation. I am sitting on call right now and have actually not seen a patient for two hours. The hospital paying for my Internet access.
