Boo Humbug!

This holiday seems to be a pain the last few years.

Could be worse - I went into Home Depot TWO WEEKS ago and they already had the Xmas trees and lights and crap out.

Talk about a way to turn someone off to the holidays. . .

I was at the Glendale Galleria picking up a suit and Christmas crap was everywhere. I think this year I'm just going to give everyone a link to the "Recession 2008" thread and be done with it...

Damn straight!

[old curmudgeon mode on]
When I was a kid we dressed in dark non reflective flammable costumes, ran in the streets without flash lights or glow sticks, wearing masks you could barely see out of, accepting candy, fruit, and baked goods from complete strangers, all without parental supervision!

Our litigious society has sucked the fun and meaning out of every holiday.
"Have a safe and sane 4th of July" "Oh we can't speak of the birth of Jesus on Christmas it might offend someone" "Columbus was a Nazi" "the pilgrims were evil" and on and on...
