You bet...first off, you can find an imposter recipe all over the internet, but each one is different than the one my wife gave me straight our of Martha Stewart Living magazine...and that's the one that is tried and true, which is as below.
Martha Stewart's Eggnog 12 egg yokes 2 cups superfine sugar 1 vanilla bean (split half lengthwise w/ seeds removed/reserved 1 quart whole milk 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 1/2 cups bourbon 1/2 cup dark rum 1 pint heavy cream 1 freshly grated nutmeg 1. In medium saucepan, heat milk, vanilla bean and seeds. Bring to gentle boil. Remove from heat, cover, and steep for 30 minutes. 2. Combine egg yolks, 1 & 1/2 cups of sugar, and salt, into bowl of electric mixer. Beat at medium high until thick and pale yellow; 3 - 5 minutes. 3. Remove vanilla bean, and return milk to simmer. Add half the warm milk to egg mixture; whisk on low until blended. Pour egg mixture into remaining warm milk. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until mixture coats back of spoon; about 7-10 minutes. Remove from heat. Pass mixture through fine sieve into a large bowl. Chill completely in fridge. 4. Add bourbon and rum to chilled mixture...refrigerate. Whip cream and remaining 1/2 cup sugar until stiff. Gently fold into egg/milk mixture. Transfer in punchbowl. Sprinkle grated nutmeg on top...serve. PS: The amounts of alcohol that are listed struck me as too much the first time I made it...I subsequently reduced it to a cup of bourbon and 1/4 cup of rum...still pretty potent when chilled. ![]() Second PS: Careful when cooking egg mixture with milk for that 7-10 minutes...it's real easy to end up with scrambled eggs. (Can't tell you how many trips to the store I made one year for more eggs...really put a damper on the holiday mood ![]()

I am reliably informed that the only substance on this earth that has more calories by volume than eggnog is sperm.
So don't be too hard on the missus if she puts on a few pounds over Xmas.

All the Christmas traditions are good!
Two years ago, when my father in law was still alive he bought 151 instead of the regular rum? I know it'll torch, but does anyone else do this? BTW I like a rum soaked piece of fruit cake with my rum soaked nog. Anyone know of a good recipee? I've tried several and still I'm not happy. I do think Myers extra dark rum poured daily over the cake covered in cheese cloth then put into an air tight container is essential for 2 to 3 months. Christmas eve Jagermeister (From the freezer) shots before the evening service is a nice tradition too. Any schnapps traditions out there?

Semen has nowhere near as many calories as nog. This was told to me as I was licking nog off the breasts of a friend.

The "Celebration" stuff? It's an ale, and yes I like that too.
