Raffles for On-line Businesses...License required?

Does anyone have any information regarding raffles for on-line businesses?

we are thinking of setting up a holiday raffle, selling tickets for a grand prize (worth about $2,000) and then giving a % of the proceeds to charity.

do we need a license by the state or do we need to be solely a non-profit?

I don't know but I'm fairly certain if you called 'em up and asked they'd tell you "yes" without question.

It sounds like this will ultimately come down to whether or not you're willing to try proceeding without. Personally, I probably would wait for them to tell me it's required, but up to you.
