Other car forums
Hi all,
I haven't had a Porsche in a few years now, but I still check in to OT every so often to see what's happening. I enjoyed my "active" time here a lot, so when I buy other makes of cars, I always try to seek out the forums appropriate to that make. One constant is that I've been able to find good technical information for all the cars I've owned -- which since the Porsches were an BMW 325xi, Audi S4, and most recently a Chrysler 300C SRT-8. (I know, I know -- but I needed a huge people hauler and the car is surprisingly fun for a big boat with an automatic). However, one thing really bums me out about these other forums, and that is all the talk and bragging about street racing. Many posts include videos of "kills" and insanely high speeds. I just saw a thread about a meet in Long Island, where an SRT-8 owner hung out with a group of M5's, including video of 170MPH runs on public roads. For you West Coasters, there isn't a single spot on Long Island's public roads where you wouldn't encounter other cars at anytime of day or night. Check it out. http://www.300cforums.com/forums/general-discussion/47376-hanging-out-bmw-ms-yesterday.html I guess what's most discouraging to me, is that there seems to be no censure of this idiocy, either by the Chrysler or BMW boards. Makes me scared to drive on the road with these fools. I miss you guys. |

I lost to a mom driving a minivan at a traffic light and I'm not even sure she knew I was racing her...
