best concert film

Watching "The Last Waltz" on a good screen with decent surround sound. Beautiful film. But then again, how many concert films have a Scorsese directing them?

Anything else come close? None that I can think of...

Me and my little Hannah just saw (for the 20th time on DVD) Curious George. Great soundtrack. Particularly the lead motive - 'Upside Down'.

OK, that was not exactly your question..sorry.

"Last Waltz" was good and I also liked Eagles "Hell Freezes Over"
Hotel California was the best remake of any song I have ever heard.

Scorcese notwithstanding, I could never get past Robbie Robertson's self indulgent navel gazing.

I'll take the1964 TAMI Show at Santa Monica if I had to pick one.

I can tune RR out enough because the musical numbers are amazing. And the look is just stunning. There are some interesting stories about the show and the production. Evidently there was plenty of cocaine involved in the making of the film. Go figure

Hands down. "Woodstock" Maybe it's not a concert film? Just watch the "10 years after" segment, Alvin Lee ..

Talking Heads concert film Stop Making Sense. Directed by Jonathan Demme, this was the only movie that I have been to that people spontaneously started dancing in the theater. If you dig the Heads then this is a must see DVD.

I like the Fleetwood Mac DVD that has the USC Trojans come out and play during tusk.

Also, the Eagles live.

Oh yeah, "+1". I still watch it a couple of times a year. The guest line-up, and just the energy surrounding the whole thing, is amazing. And that big ol' rock stuck in Neil Young's nose hairs...

Gimme Shelter. Is it technically a "concert film"? Dunno, but it's the only thing even close to the genre I enjoyed.

Once you get past the strange intro and ending, MY Morning Jacket, "Okonokos" (DVD) is a pretty stunning recording and an excellent representation of what the band is like live; seen them three times.

I also enjoyed ColdPlay's Live DVD.

Paul McCartney in Red Square. Fleetwood Mac, The Dance. Santana, Supernatural was pretty good too. The red haired dancer was worth the price of admission by herself.

No all time great but the other nite I caught Pink, I'm not Dead. Not the biggest Pink fan, but a pretty cool show. Tony Hawk is a lucky man!
