Tool problems
Problem #1:
I have an older Craftsman table saw with a "Flex Drive" cable instead of a belt. I was cutting up some beautiful old mahogany a couple nights ago and the cable broke. Sears Canada has a new one for $156. Sears USA has the same part for $75.49, but won't ship to Canada. Anyone know any other places where I can get parts for tools? It's Craftsman Model # 113.241691, part #62884 Problem #2: Changing glow plugs in an older VW diesel is a pain, especially the two behind the injection pump. With practice and luck, it can be done in about an hour using a 12mm ratcheting boxed-end wrench. Even then, it's slow going as you only have 2-3mm of back & forth room for the wrench.  Has anyone invented a gear wrench that uses a worm gear & a crank? Something like this hi-tech artists representation:  If not, would someone please invent one ASAP? I'll take an 8mm & and a 12mm. This would make changing glow plugs a 15 minute job

I've worked on a couple of concepts like that.
Problem that you run into is the torque does not translate the way you think it will. Something like that can work if you crack the nut loose first otherwise the torque is translated back to the wrench and all that happens is the wrench rotates around the nut or the tool just twists. Make sense?

close! That is the right concept, but too bulky. There is just enough room to get a boxed-end wrench back there, a ratchet + socket would never fit.

Yep, I know exactly what you mean. I always use a regular boxed end wrench to crack the glow plugs loose, then use a gear wrench to "spin" them out. No torque required... in fact they spin so loose there is sometimes not enough resistance to get the gear wrench to work. It's very slow with only 3mm of side to side... I just need something to spin them out faster once they're loosened

Have the part shipped to the US and one of us Pelicans will turn around and ship it up to you. Easy solution.. Can't believe they are raping you like that up there.
