Shot this group today @ 100yrds.
Sighting in my Browning 25-06 A bolt today and shot this group. Think I'll send a few groundhogs to heaven later.

Looks like a lot of vertical stringing. That's gonna make it hard to hit ground hogs much farther away than that, unless they stand straight up for you.

Suggestions? You have my respect here Jeff, as you know I just started into rifles after a life of shotguns. Actually that is two groups. I was dialing in on the top 3 and the 3 that are in the 1 in. are the three shot results.

Oh, well then, I don't see a problem at all. As two seperate groups they look pretty darn good.
Just one suggestion; I would stick with the zero established in your upper group. It looks like 1.5"-2" high or so, which is an excellent 100 yard zero for any high velocity rifle like the .25-'06. That would allow you to pretty much hold right on a hog out to almost 300 yards. So which A-Bolt do you have? Standard barrel, heavy barrel, 'glass stock, wood stock, etc. What was the ammo?

I will use your advice and thanks. It is the Medallion model 24" standard, non BOSS barrel. Wood stock. I was using Winchester factory varmint 90 grain expanding point loads.

Speaking of 25/06s. It was a caliber developed as a "wildcat" cartridge by A O Neidner back in the 1920s. It is basically a necked down 30/06.
AND..here is a custom target rifle in 25/06 by A O Neidner. It is built on a Springfield 1903 action and features a stock by Thomas Shellhammer. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Vertical stringing = watch your breathing!
Set ...breath ...let 'half' out ...hold ...squeeze!
