Randy,

Just got my oldest one for his birthday. Got the basic sport pack. For the first few days all the kids were moaning about sore arms. Also the youngest got hit on the head when he got in the way !

But on the plus side I've got a 5 below par over 9 holes in the golf LOL

They are brilliant.

Scott

I got one for my kids when they first came out. The hardest part is just getting one. After that, It's all good.

Get a second controller and any Nintendo made software for it. Great fun but good game selection is pretty much limited to what Nintendo makes.

Can't speak to much but the Simpson's game is awesome. And Guitar Hero is very popular, though not one of my personal faves (most likely because I actually play guitar, and it's not very realistic).

I bought two off eBay for Christmas presents; both sets were set up for two players which included two nunchuks, two controllers, one console with stand, 15 games in total, sensor bar, adapter and cable. My cost was $415US each.

The sellers handle was 'javgonz' and he honoured my first successful bid with a 2nd set and less shipping charges; good guy.

Some of my friends have these units and they're alot of fun.
Hope this helps you out?

Here in the Columbus Georgia area they are sold out everywhere. If you can find one get it and get it now. Don't wait.

If it'll help; here's the guys email address that i bought from; you can give him my name as a referral and ask him if he'll send you a two person game for the same price?
He'll likely send you an invoice via Paypal, but I think he may be game? (no pun intended)

His email is: javgonz@gmail.com

Good Luck!

Word on the video game nerd news websites is that the Wii is in high demand, but Nintendo is having some major supply issues. So much so that some of the retailers were caught hiking the price of the system. As someone else here mentioned, if your getting it for Christmas do it soon or you might not find one.

For entertainment value, it's a load of fun for all walks of life, old or young, gamer or technology illiterate.

they are marked up about $200 at various Amazon retailers. I'd like to get one to mess around with, but not for $400+. After xmas they'll like "fix" their supply issues and the prices will drop and availability will increase.

My youngest saved up his birthday money and bought one. I will echo what others have said about how difficult it is to find one. We went round just about every where but ended up finding one in Sears.
It is worth getting the extra controller, but you can manage with just one to start with, you just have to keep swapping between players.
The sports pack that comes with it is awesome. We can play those games for an entire weekend without it getting old. The gameplay itself is fantastic, way more involving than your usual video game and everyone else playing gathers around to watch each other. It really is quite a social activity.

When you get one, try the bowling. It is alot of fun to bowl and alot of fun to watch... and you get to set up your own personal Mii.

Weird, wasn't this game already out last christmas? The one where you strap some thingy to your wrist and do fake bowling, tennis, etc? That was like $400 last year?

If that's the one, all the kids in my neighborhood got one last year (except my kids, we don't do video games). And no one plays with it anymore.

Although I have to say the kids in our neighborhood are pretty active outdoors and with real sports.

If you have HD get the better cable for the wii. Makes the games look better. Not quite HD but better than the regular picture.

Thanks for the help guys, I tried to get one on-line last night and ebay was about the only source. WalMart had them as well but required you to purchase a $700 bundle.

Currently one or two Ebay sellers have the two player packages, with 14 games, for a buy-it-now for $419 +$39 shipping. Wish I was more patient as I picked one up for $530 total....others are paying quite a bit more though.

I also saw Walmarts very high bundle price. Seems to be the worst deal on the net.

They said this LAST Christmas. I bought one for a friend during the spring and they had 8 of them at Target that day. The supply just can't keep up withe demand compounded by them bringing out better games driving up even more demand. I was at Toys r us last Sunday and this particular store sold 70! units before 9:00am. If you really want one, the best thing to do is check the Sunday flyers and see who is selling them (they have to have at least a few for every store). Then its up to you to get up early and determine if you want to wait in line. Me, I just bought it off Ebay.

If your a Costco of Sam's club member, sometimes you can buy them online and the competition is a little less due to membership.
