I'm just happy department store mannequins now have nipples.

rammstein 11-28-2007 12:13 PM

Your happiness will be short lived. Next up will be penises on mannequins.

Unless you are into that.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Just like JC Penneys when we were kids, huh, Dan?

Lets try to keep it on topic, in that this isn't an FCC bashing thread per se, but rather a question of why its ok to show someone get their eye shot out, but not show a naked chick riding a horse.

Answer: It isn't!

Solution: Take the violence off of the TV. If you want to watch violence, get cable. Public television should appeal to the public and be generally in the best interests of the public. Watching an execution live might be appealing, but wouldn't be the right thing to do...

If you look at the REALLY good TV shows both past and present, most of them do not rely on violence, sex or gore. Of course don't try to tell that to the TV execs as they roll out the next episode of "Dirty, Sexy, Money"...

Dirty, Sexy, Money...

That sounds like something Fox would do ;)

rammstein 11-28-2007 01:29 PM

By the way- I wholeheartedly endorse a switch from violence to nudity. But only chicks.

Look at the surprise hit shows of today: "American Idol" and "Dancing with the Stars". Both with pretty much a G rating.

And both are imports. At least the format.

Jumping in late here, but what infuriates me is when I take my kids to a G movie and have to cover their eyes during the PG previews. I understand they are probably trying to 'hook' the parents, but come on, let's keep it G all around.

You could poke an eye out with that thing.

Ugh, actually we produce it, its one of my shows. Its done by Touchstone Television, which is part of Disney. We sell the show to Lifetime.
