Has Fred Thompson Peaked too Early?
With his current poll numbers, it's hard to believe Fred Thompson could pick up any more support in Iowa, NH and SC. But there's still over 3 weeks before the primaries, I'm wondering if he has peaked too early.

Afraid he has. Like the old joke says, he peaked the day before he announced. He never put a compelling reason forward to vote for him beyond his accent and ocupation. Voter-wise he holds most of the same positions as McCain and competes with him. The religious conservatives who were looking for the next Reagan cooled on him quickly and seemed to have settled on Huckabee. I don't see him getting his mojo back, but it's a long race and he came from way behind to win his first senate race.

Given where he is in the polls, it's hard to understand your question, "has he peaked too early?"

Umm, ok.
But I think you need to add "tried to" somewhere in your sentence. |

He'll be fine. The other Republican candidates aren't moderate enough to get the nomination. I think he'll take off once he floats Condi Rice as a potential running mate.

Was that the famous rib joint scene? I do love BBQ and Fred is the perfect guy for tending a pit fire.

It really bothers me that he's not getting much press. I really don't care for any of the others.
Huck -Yea right, he hasn't a chance. Once some of his nuttier stuff goes primetime he's done. Rudy - I don't know, maybe I guess. A compromise I won't lose sleep over but I'm not planting any yard signs. Romney - The Republican John Kerry, as fake nd manufactured as Hillary's marriage Paul - Beam me up Scotty.

Lots of us had high hopes for Fred. He's been flat as a pancake since jumping in. Not sure I understand that kind of strategy. Perhaps he's brilliantly timing his rush to the top. But I doubt it.

The guy somehow is a poser, an empty suit. He is going nowhere. No energy.

That's just it though, he's doing anything but posing.

RWM dwarfs mainstream media these days. what are they saying about Fred? Has he done anything to warrant coverage?

Huh? Regarding why he's not getting any press, I don't know exactly. There are many games at play.
