Deal or no Deal-the Game show
This has got to be the stupidest game show imaginable. Absolutely no skill required what so ever. Most of these people haven't got a clue of the concept of the probability of expected returns. I just saw a numbnuts with $1MM on the board and five other suitcases the highest of which was like $1,000. The bankers offer him $100K and he turns it down. He picks the $1MM suitcase and the next offer is $400. I don't watch this, but caught it for a few minutes.

Yeah, but there are plenty of broads to divert your attention for a few minutes.

This is where the phrase, "dumber than a stump" seems to apply very well.

I used to play poker with actuaries, that was pretty dumb too.
My wife watches "Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader". She thinks one of use should get on the show. I keep telling her that neither of us would ever get past the screen test: we're too smart. It's not entertaining to have intelligent people get all of the questions right and cruise to the big prize. The point of the show is to let the unwashed masses feel good about themselves as they are margninally more intelligent than the contestants selected. I think the same applies to "Deal or No Deal".

The show is atrociously boring/angering to watch.
If I was on there, I would run the numbers in my head to see what my overall winnings average would be at each stage. As soon as an offer greater than that was made, I would bail. Cold, calculated, and totally never going to be allowed on TV. |

I'd watch more of it if they'd get rid of Howie, the banker and the contestant’s friends/family.
Leave the girls. Have them take off some clothing after ever round.... Yeah, I'd watch that!

I agree Hugh. I I can feel what little IQ I have being drained every minute I watch Deal or No Deal.....
I think that is why they have all the beauties there, so smucks like me will still tune in!

Hah, my partner submitted an application when they came to Vancouver. He never heard back? I don't watch TV, seen it a couple times at his place.

I love that show! The contestants make such reliably bad decisions.
It should be renamed "I Can't Do Simple Math" or maybe "I'm Greedy and Stupid". It's like a train wreck that takes an hour to unfold. And Howie is so ultimately cold when they fail. Actually he's cold through the whole thing. The freaks are always jumping up and down and trying to hug him when things are going well, but apparently he hates to be touched and has as much contempt for the greedy players as the rest of the audience. They need to retrain the cameramen to keep their gear focused on the self-employed models and not the fat losers and the losers' posse.

I must admit I enjoy watching the greed take over and people who make $8/hour turning down $200K for the $1M chance, then blowing it for a pittance. Usually egged-on by the equally stupid family members who inevitably say "one more time" over and over until it's blown.
