I have two friends/wives of friends who are due to give birth this week. Last week another friend and I placed a $5 bet on who would go first--more a joke than anything.

When the bet was placed, we knew that the one lady was scheduled to be induced today, and the other was going off of her premature labor meds that Friday. I bet on the one going off the meds (Courtney), my friend bet on the one being induced (Rebecca). They have the same OBGYN and will deliver at the same hospital.

At 8:30 this morning:

And I'm told that Rebecca went in at 7am.

Jeff was worried that them going in at 6:30am would delay Rebecca's induction that was supposed to start at 7am.

-They got to the hospital around [3:30].
-No baby, but everyone was fine at [6:30]
-Learned that Courtney did get Rebecca bumped from 7:00 to 11 (I think).
-They had broke her water by then. [8:30].
-No baby yet, but Courtney has an epidural. They may start her on induction drugs soon. [10:00]

At 1:18:

Rebecca is checked in and in a room. No word yet on if she's had a baby either.

At 2:57:

Still no baby for Rebecca either but they got the last room available. Apparently it's a busy baby day.

I never thought such a crazy bet would turn out so close!

I won!!!

Jeff's little girl was born at 3:15 or so. No word on a name yet.

No word on Rebecca either.

I expect to be making a trip to the hospital tomorrow.

I've already rolled the $5 into a bet with another coworker. When we go casual at work on January 1st, I bet him that he wouldn't wear a bear suit.

Well, I just got word on Rebecca. Katherine Anne was born around 8:00 this morning.

Haley Elizabeth was born yesterday at 3:30 or so.

Both of these couples already have two-year old daughters.
