Damn....I had the same style on my car for years and NEVER had any trouble that would cause that much damage. Sorry to hear someone from here could be that way...then again you never know over the internet.

Thom,
that sucks. By the way, your replacement reflector panel came out PERFECT.

Out the jerk.

The good folks at Kahler's in Dublin mangled my first CF heating tube I bought from Thom. In fact, they CUT IT IN HALF!

I dumped it in the garbage and bought another one. Tyson Schmidt put the second one in without mangling it.

I didn't even ask Kahler to pay for the tube they killed. I knew what the answer was gonna be. And I damn sure wasn't going to ask Thom to replace a tube that MY mechanic destroyed.

The loser who returned the tube needs to be b!tch slapped.

It eventually arrived and I sent him a refund - he even wanted the shipping refunded.

1) Cough up the name, Thom!

2) Based on what you said, it sounds like the guy has an anger management problem. He probably ran into some problem trying to install it, tried to force it on, busted it, then went Ike Turner on it, thinking that since he busted it, he wasn't entitled to a refund.

Then after cooling a touch, he called you to vent further and try to get his money back. You offered, but asked him to send it back, and he obviously was in a tough spot on doing that, and had to resist sending it back.

But he of course realized that you requiring him to send it back, in exchange for a refund, is completely reasonable, so with nothing left to lose, he stuck it in a box and sent it.

3) Cough up the name!

WOW!! I can't believe that! Then again, there are some out there. Whoever he is, I don't suspect he'll be replying to this thread.

Subscribing.

SCWDP911 12-15-2007 09:15 PM

hate to see that... I had a Chem-Dry franchise once... once... man, enough said...

masraum 12-15-2007 09:21 PM

Some people are just douchebags that don't deserve the air they breath. I suspect this guy tried to install the part someplace it wasn't meant to go, like the wrong engine or something.

What a wanker.

It's a shame we can't ban them from the board.

Porsche-O-Phile 12-15-2007 10:34 PM

What an arsehole.

Someone should have told him you can't put this part up your arse.

I respect Thom's decision not to name names.

Rick Lee 12-16-2007 10:01 AM

Why? I'm sure Thom doesn't hate any of enough to want us to ever end up dealing with such an idiot. I hope he lets us know with whom we should all never do business.

bell 12-16-2007 10:18 AM

i think whoever bought and returned the part has been dragged over the coals in this thread and would probably be best left un-named, hopefully it'll sink in that what they did was wrong and will act differently in the future........
i don't blame thom for not outing him.....the best resolution for this whole ****pile would be for that person to post that they returned the money to thom imo.

Indeed. And yes, whomever it is most indeed owes Thom that money, WITH the shipping refund Thom gave. He doesn't even have to post he did, but whoever you are, you OWE THAT MONEY+ shipping to Thom.

Thom and I couldn't agree on a political thread, but I have never doubted the fact that I could do business with him should there be an opportunity. The fact that he remains reticent not naming names affirms my position.

And I love his work on VWs...to a point that I'm looking at getting another Bus, 30 plus years after my first.

I have done business with him and could not find a nicer person to work with. The beoytch he was dealing with needs taking out behind the shed.

Hey Thom, do not post his name here but please send him the URL on this thread. Let him know how the rest of the PP people feel. If he then does not pay you back for crap like this then Karma will bite him on the rear eventually. He does deserve to see this thread though...

billh1963 12-16-2007 12:45 PM

Wow!

Everytime I start to think about opening up a little shop or buying a franchise I read one of these threads. It just continues to prove that there are a lot of stupid people in the world!
