I won't disagree with a liberal bias in the MSM, but at least their business model is based on reporting news. Fox and republican talk radio's business model is based on selling you junk made in China, timeshares, kitchen cabinets, etc. You just don't hear Anderson Cooper or Brian Williams endorsing sleep number beds as the best thing they've ever slept on. Furthermore, while I don't have a TV, I've been housesitting for a friend the last few days and been watching Fox and CNN. CNN has really great shows on Jesus and Military families. Fox has become like a TV version of the National Enquirer. I flip from a story on success in Iraq on CNN to the latest on Paris Hilton on Fox. We live in a time where celebrities deliver the news with their personal spin to develop a personal audience where they personally profit: Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilly, etc. They all personally profit from spinning the news and getting you to join their team, become a member of their community where you feel you BELONG. Of course you have to create an enemy to really get people to feel that they belong to the "RIGHT" group and that in turn will encourage them to open their wallets. It's that simple.

Is this your way of responding "yes," he knew better, but went and did it anyway? Interesting, I never knew you felt that way, it's a bit harsh, isn't it? Last edited by cool_chick; 12-24-2007 at 12:15 PM.. |

But even if we allow you a free pass on your mis-spelling of a word you put in a quote...you remain incorrect in saying that they are pronounced the same since they most certainly are not. If you will check with your local word book you might notice that "core" is pronounced phonetically as "kor" while the word "corps" is pronounced phonetically "korz" per the resident Webster I'm looking at. So, do you plead another typo on that also? ![]() I would guess that a linguistic expert like Mr. Bush was unaware of the correct pronunciation of "corps" and that what he said was the correct pronunciation of "core" at the debate and that's why it's listed exactly that way. Probably a result of that inferior Yale education his dad paid for! ![]() |

![]() BTW, my #2 son had a position with Pillsbury at their corporate HQ prior to them being bought by General Mills. (his office had a nice view looking down on the ugly stadium where the Packers beat up the Vikes this year) When he was relocating the local person assisting with move suggested that Edina, Eden Prairie (which he choose) and Roseville were all good areas...except that Roseville had an unusually large percentage of goofballs. Not sure why...........................but maybe MRM knows. ![]() |

![]() What I've perceived in my brief foray into the political posts on this forum is that they happen to be predominantly right wing Republican and that those who post anything questioning or contra to Conservative belief/rhetoric/dogma are labeled Bush haters, Bush bashers (is there some fine distinction to be made between the two?), Commies, Socialists, unpatriotic, etc. and that there is consequently a paucity of genuine discussion or debate but rather a proliferation of angry rants (including Clinton bashing from the right) accompanied by a lot of arduous cutting and pasting of material and links which, rather than being used to bolster the poster's position, are used as walls to block rather than encourage discussion. I read the Berkowitz opinion and, while he makes some intelligent points, they apply to both the left and the right and his attribution of vitriolic behavior specifically to those who are to the left of center imply that such vitriol is exclusively left wing behavior, which opinion I find unconscionable. Judging from his perspective I'd guess that he's a staunch right wing Republican (for those to whom it may not be clear, my guess is not intended as “bashing”). I perceive his opinion as considerably less intellectually analytical than political. Quote:
"To get the conversation rolling at that D.C. dinner--and perhaps mischievously--I wondered aloud whether Bush hatred had not made rational discussion of politics in Washington all but impossible." Peter Berkowitz.

Also, what the hell IS the statue of limitiations for the "blame Bill" defense that these goobers seem to rely upon? I wonder if when the next prez takes office and fuks up that they will immediately point to lil Geo like they have at Slick Willy for the past 7 damn years!!! Idiots. No wonder that they voted for a guy who said that Social Security was not a federal program and that Africa was a nation! (and yes fin, Rick, Ronin, and MRM.....those statements by our glorious CIC are documented and he did say them) |

I have seen you slam the education provided at Harvard and Yale several times here and wonder just where you received your superior education.
