So you may be alone in your views, AGAIN.
Like bashing women, blacks and Viet Vets.
And there is this poetic quote about Herbstreit, just too much class.
How do you do it?

"You wouldn't have to wonder. My friends at TVA used to joke that blacks were the most insulated from trouble. After that it was a toss up between women & Viet Nam vets. For some reason at TVA, being a VN vet was worth a lot. We always said that if you were a black, female, Viet Nam vet, you could take a dump on the president's desk & he'd wipe for you."

Mule
My opinion may be softening towards Herbstreit. Instead of me praying for him to choke to death on a horse ****. tonight I'll ask God to let him choke to deat on Les Miles' ****. Amen

And that really bothers you why?
I don't understand why you take this stuff personally. YOU are not LSU. If someone says something positive about a team other than LSU it has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with you.
YOU are merely a spectator. Same with me and the rest of us and all other teams.

To tell you the truth I didn't give a rats a$$ about LSU or USC or any college team until the beginning of this season. I watched the games and enjoyed them but didn't really consider myself as a fan of any of them.

Then you started with your sillyassed LSU is great USC sucks routine and frankly it got old real fast. It was obvious you had an irrational chip on your shoulder against anything from so Cal.
I started rooting against LSU hoping that it would put a stop to your stupid insults and rambling. Obviously it hasn't.
I still haven't figured out why some people from other parts of this country are so resentful of Southern California. It isn't heathy, it isn't normal. Good luck with that.

lendaddy 01-01-2008 01:00 PM

Michigan clearly would have contended in the SEC:)

mattdavis11 01-01-2008 01:17 PM

Michigan is playing the best in college football right now. If they had gone to the flower bowl they would have beaten the home team, I mean USC.

They should be awarded co-national champions.

BeyGon 01-01-2008 01:17 PM

Like Sammy, I never put any thought into what LSU did until the PAC 10, California bashing started here. I still don't care what they do, the Rose Bowl is starting and that is THE GAME of Bowl Games for me. I don't care if LSU thinks they are number one or what. The Rose Bowl is on now.
Mule, I hope you are watching and hang on every Herbstreit word.
Great Southern California afternoon for a ROSE BOWL GAME.

Today just shows again, that Herbstreit is completely overrated as an "analyst" and probably has a job because he is more of a glamour boy..though he does have some competition at ESPN now with the Bachelor Jesse Palmer.

The other myth blown again today, is that the SEC is the fastest conference...
Michigan WALKED up and down the field all day...and other than Percy Harvin, who is incredible, Florida looked slow, and overmatched physically. Michigan rolled almost 600 yds of total offense and if it wasnt for the 4 unforced turnovers would have won by 21... as it was, great win for Michigan and time for the SEC excuse-makers to start their annual talk.

Michigan 5-1 vs. SEC in bowl games past 10 years
out

Why?

Sonic dB 01-01-2008 01:53 PM

Illi has its hands full. That is a young team that sort of overachieved this year, and really doesnt have anywhere near the horses that SC has...

lendaddy 01-01-2008 01:59 PM

Illinois never had a prayer, even though USC is over rated this is going to be ugly.

48 -10

I am sure you saw it, the new coach for UCLA said what he wanted, He Wants to Play in the ROSE BOWL. He didn't say he wanted to be anything to the BCS, he wanted to play in the ROSE BOWL.

Noah930 01-01-2008 04:11 PM

Wow. Some of you guys know how to take all the fun out of even college sports.

We must have watched a different game here. The one I saw was a close game decided by a touchdown.

Remember, the Trojans wanted no part of Georgia.

USC/Georgia and Hawaii/Illinois would have made much more sense all around.

Shuie 01-01-2008 06:38 PM

Michigan was very strong. They should have won by three touchdowns. Congrats, Wolverines.

Interesting. Sure it wasn't 4 or 5? How do you arrive at a should have won by number? Can you bet on that in Vegas?

I start out by watching the game. Then I take the actual margin of victory and add the number of touchdowns the winning team gave away via turnovers deep in the red zone while running the ball at will against the loser. Neither team played defense well, and I don't want to see an SEC team lose to a Big Ten team any more than you do, but Florida got handled today.
