Interesting Coincidence - VINs off by 2 digits!

On the tech bored - a guy from Iowa is considering a 77 ROW Targa that needs all sorts of love. The interesting thing is his VIN is 9117311263 seemed really familiar. I checked mine and it is 9117311265 - two digits away! These cars could have been made the same week if not the same day.

How many of you guys know of other cars with a VIN that is only a few digits off yours?

We had two customer 928 models, were built in the same month and the VIN numbers were indentical except the 16th numbers. I had to double check our records to make sure!!!!!

I know plenty! All the 200 MkIV VW R32s sold in Australia were made in the same production run. I know about 15 owners personally, another 10 or so through my mechanic / the net. VINs are all sequential.
