I HATE TimeWarner Cable!!!Alternatives??

I hate my cable internet provider - Time Warner Cable. They are my paradigm for lousy customer service. I am too frustrated to type the details. Suffice it to say that I've spent the last 3 hours trying to reset my frigging e-mail password. Nothing about my account works. I didn't forget my password - it just won't work. TW doesn't recognize any of my information such as name, address, and phone number. The number on my cable modem doesn't even match my e-mail address. sad thing is, I've had troubles with them all along.

Please, if anyone knows of a high speed internet alternative, I'm all ears. My main requirement is that I need to have a home network with 4 computers connected, so a wireless high speed card (i.e.Verizon) won't work afaik.

Well since price is little concern maybe a Junxion box would work.

From http://www.junxion.com/product/

"The Junxion Box™ cellular router uses a patent-pending software platform to create an easy yet commercial-grade means of connecting fleets of computing devices like laptops, ATM machines, retail point of sale terminals and mobile telemetry systems with the latest wireless data services from carriers like AT&T and Sprint. "

They do also support Verizon Wireless networks.

I hate TWC too. They're lousy even here in their own Southland back yard. I'm going Direct TV sooner or later.

That's what I was hoping for. Thanks!

check out the D-Link DIR-450.. just started using this at work for a project. It is a wireless router that uses a PC aircard for its internet.

It works as it says, but it wont be as fast as cable...i'm getting 784kb usually. It can broadcast wireles and also has 4 ports.

Search for EVDO router. E.g. http://www.evdoinfo.com/content/view/264/63/

But I find speed on Verizon Wireless EVDO to be only so-so. Best I've seen is 500kb/s, often 100-200kb/s. Will that be fast enough?

See if Verizon FiOS is available in your area, I don't have it but have heard pretty good things from people who do.

I have verizon dsl and can't really complain. DirecTV for the tube. I was tempted by the all-in-one cable offer and might go that way when I move but I have to admit that I like having the land line and I prefer sat to cable.
