Back Door Slam

Caught these guys last night at House Of Blues in Dallas.

Power Blue's trio from the Isle of Man of all places.

http://www.backdoorslam.com/

They are in their early 20's.

Great gig.

Singer reminds me of a young Stevie Winwood both visually and vocally.

Kid can shred as well.

Check em out if they come to your town.

Wow, thanks for the tip. I really liked that clip and I downloaded the album from iTunes. Man, this is just about the best album I have heard in a long long time. Every song is great. Count me a fan!

Is it just me, or was the bass player not up to snuff with the lead guitar player?

He was doing a pretty basic bass line...I think something that moved a little more would have been appropriate.

He's 20, oldest guy in the band is 21 which I believe is the drummer.

Considering the population of Isle of Man is just south of 76,000 finding ANY talent would be a challenge.

And let's face it, the band is all about the lead. Think SVR and Double Trouble. Tommy and Chris are awesome but it was all about Stevie.

Not comparing him to Stevie Vay Raughan (SVR ), but that's who came to mind as I watched the video...

The guitar player doesn't really leave many holes for the other fellas to do much.

I like this band but I think that maybe in 5 years or something the guitar player will play about 30% less, and then they will be awesome.
